Well he got 1 match for the Fasolo one and not the Maxwell one so what does that say?

It says the MRP have no balance, perspective or meaningful insight into how to act as a credible authority that can assert a lasting impression on how players conduct themselves within the spirit and 'rules'.

After the fasolo hit, loved the way tappy flipped the remonstrating pie like a feather. If hadn't have held on to dear life to tappy's jumper said pie would have made an hillarious backflip.

MRP = Complete farce. I just hope they don't get paid for that crap.

What about the Wojinski precedent with the bye?

Surely it's a bit tough on Tappy to have to miss 2 weeks because of the bye. The bye week should be counted as his suspension, for his minor infraction. The 2 VFL byes were included in Wojinsky's suspension despite his misdemeanor (and its outcome) being far worse.

Fasolo wasnt even worth it, why not save it for scully?

I'd like to see Blease give some to scully.

It would tell me something about his character.

Im expecting nothing out of the ordinary though, cos thats our style.

Well done Tappy, a little bit late, but committed to the contest.

They will be a bit bruised as well, and be looking over their shoulder next time !!

He does indeed, and that's why I've commented positively on this aspect of his game on the forum, and why I applaud those efforts when I'm at the footy.

However, you can do those without hitting a guy in the lower back when you're nowhere near any sort of even half-realistic spoiling attempt.

Deserves it from who?

Do you reckon he deserves it from the tribunal? If so, you reckon the tribunal should let off players when they cross the line every now and then because they're tough?

Deserves it from his teammates and the Coach? Getting suspended isn't only a penalty for the player involved, but lets the entire team down.

If we were any good, and Tapscott was an important player, careless suspensions like that would start to become a concern. As it is, we now need someone else to line up Scully ;)

It'd be different if he was going in hard for the footy and happened to collect a bloke high or something, but 'FGS' he wasn't even in the contest.

I'm just saying, I'd like the MFC to be a bit more like Hawthorn, where Al Clarkson allows his troops some license to 'walk the line' and 'push the envelope'.

Tappy is resurrecting the spirit of Grinter and I like it. That's all I'm saying.

As for whom the job of lining up Moneybags will go to ... I'd like to think all 22 players will have them in their gunsights on June 24.

Will he front up? That's the big question. I'm tipping a 'knee injury' to keep him out.

I can't believe some of the pathetic comments on here.

The club has been accused of playing bruise free football and being soft. What we've seen in the last few weeks is a definite over correction, and just like the over correction to our game plan it will take time to get right, but do we need it? Abso-f*#king-lutey.

Maxwell looked so weak going back with one hand on the weekend. Our players created that fear in him. We haven't done it for the best part of 10 years. I will take one week suspensions if it starts to prove that we really are the hardest team to play against.

If you don't like it you can always go support Fitzroy. Oh, wait.....

Not that long ago what Tappy did was the norm. Back then though, tripping by foot was an instant 50m penalty and report. Now, any time Fletcher or Swan are off balance, they have license to throw a leg in the air, knowing they probably won't be penalized and almost certainly won't be suspended.

If Scully goes down like a bag of excrement 100m off the ball with nobody apparently nearby, we'll know Jimmy has socked him one in the balls. And if Cam Schwab starts walking towards a grassy knoll in Jolimont park before the game, Scully better not be in a convertible.

For the symbolism, I'd love Mitch Clark to break Scully.

For the symbolism, I'd love Mitch Clark to break Scully.

Especially seeing as Clark is actually earning his paycheck at the Dees. ie. Kicking goals and making a contest in our forward 50.

I'd say so far he has shown he can be a positive influence on our club, now and in the future.

Haven't heard Scully's name mentioned in a positive sense at all this year, even with the many good things the papers have said about GWS.

Still, he's got another 4 years to prove his worth.

I still love how if you even dare to think that a Melbourne player did something wrong, you are soft and you are an advocate for soft football. It's just hilarious, really. Apparently either you love watching players squib contests, or you love watching players act recklessly and thoughtlessly, and there's no middle ground.

I love how Tapscott wants to hurt his opponents, and I love that he tried to stand up to Collingwood. There are better ways to do it, though, than pushing a defenceless player into the interchange bench when the ball is dead.

So did I. And who has more premiership medals sitting on the mantlepiece, the Scott Bros or Nick Reiwoldt?

No need to answer.

You've said a lot of stupid stuff RR, but maybe this one takes the cake.

Your logic - since the Scott brothers were tough/strong/physically imposing/threatening/whatever, and Riewoldt is less so, and that they pushed him around when he broke his shoulder, they won premierships.

Well then.

Tapscott pushed Maxwell into the boundary. How many premierships has Tapscott won? And Maxwell? Oh...wait.

Two. No great Premiership teams of the past have existed without being seen as a pack of Cs. Leigh Matthews coached the best of them FCS.

Bull.

Geelong is/was not a pack of Cs. Nor was Essendon in 2000. Nor was Collingwood in 2010.

WTH? Try telling that to Brad Green or Troy Simmonds!

That's not to say it comes out every game, or on that one day, but it is there ever present and below the surface and ready to unveil itself when needed.

Hunt standing on Betts hand, Jolly serving it up to Jamar after he crumbed a goal are examples from the weekend just gone.

quoting "Titan"

"Geelong is/was not a pack of Cs. Nor was Essendon in 2000. "

WHAT,,,,,,,,,,

You mustn't have seen Long trying to break Simmond's neck, or the guy holding Green while Wallis tried to fracture his larynx. There could easily have been two Demon fatalities in the first half of the 2000 GF. That's no exaggeration.

Tappy is the man! Players from other sides need to think twice about backing into a pack when playing us.

For to long now Melbourne have been outside/soft club. This [censored] has got to stop, now!

Neeld has the right style plan, in and under and he wouldn't have minded seeing Tappy fly the flag on Monday.

Watch the end of this video to see us getting rag-dolled in the 2000 grand final. Makes me feel sick.

Can't believe titan's suggesting Essendon weren't a bunch of Cs back then, guess that's still Hird's face working as their poster boy.

That game was our soft, fairy-tale team versus a bunch of hardnut pricks and we got fkn rooolllled. Reminds me how much I hated the footy we were playing under Bailey, soft fancy shite.

Looking forward to seeing more of the same aggression from Tappy, and loving the style of footy that Neeld is bringing to our club.

Talk about derailing a point with a terrible example...

Wallis, Solomon, the Johnson brothers, Moorcroft, and Barnard just called you what you said they weren't.

What I find almost luiaghable about all this is one bloke misses a punch and glances across the back of a player..and all up in arms

Players are constantly whacked in the lower back or jabbed in guts as niggling prior to bounces etc...nothing is ever done really. total hypocrisy

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
