Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jack Viney's square off on Rance

Razor's call on Big M's jumper pull when they were both holding. Typical Razor always giving a 50/50 against us.

Should not be umpiring at this level. Always the show pony and making sure he is the one getting noticed. That's not an umpire's role

Totally agree.  I like Carey, but he then spent the next minute or so trying to defend Rance's actions.  Rubbish.  The bloke committed a dog act and there is no excuse for it.

I think Carey was being told to go easy on Rance, he was definitely holding back on what he really thought imo

I don't buy the out of character rubbish either, right after he did it he tried to play for a free kick of Jack Viney, he's just a weak dog.

First time i have seen Roos completely baffled with some of the umpiring decisions. Usually he is pretty measured but he was pretty ticked and couldn't hide his frustration.

For the reasons pointed out by other posters, does Rance's  dog act qualify for direct referral to the Tribunal?

It should.

Same (if not worse) than throwing a punch at the head of another player.

Lucky he didn't contact the brain stem.

They came down hard on Cameron and May, whilst this incident is completely different they are trying to set standards. Needs to go for a couple.

What did Vince do? I didn't see it at the game, is he in trouble?

He came in with a few hard palms to the upper chest. I assume he'll be fine but they looked like they hurt >:)

Dog act by Rance, bet he would squeal like a pig if it happened to him or a team mate. 2 weeks down to 1. Rance really showed some prissiness when Jack came after him. Shows how tough he really is.....................as tough as a bowl full of dampened sorbent !!  He did the soiling !

IMHO Rance will get two, with a likely plea down to one.

Viney won't get anything; it was forceful and aggressive, but there's no way that can be construed as striking.

Think many may be surprised.

He contacted the no-NO go area....the head. It was a truly dog act. NO ONE is giving it leeway, even known Toige sycophants.  I'm thinking 3-4 weeks with plea of 2 .

Next time we play them.....just runthrough the scum. Payback.

Contact to the front of a Richmond players face when Vince was getting up after being crunched in a fair tackle. Hoping it fly's under the radar because he could get a week.

I don't buy it either, there is a reason I have intensely disliked Rance for a long time.

look at the quarter time blue, the sod gives Bugg a very forceful shove when Bugg wasn't looking and goes to walk off, like it wasn't him - weak.

That said, he is like his team, look at them all tough and trying to bully Slalem when it was 4 or 5 versus one, but they back-pedalled big time when the likes of Viney, Dunn and Pedo got in their faces. As a team they are a classic case of being the school bully who empties their stomach whenever anyone stands up to them. They are a toothless mob of cowards these Tiges, only tough when they have the numerical advantage, they probably would be better off (as Bugg suggested) by selecting Cotchin's wife as she shows more fight than these weak cowards.

According to this, the MRP can add weeks where an act has the potential to cause serious injury. New clause in 2016. Refers specifically to elbows.

With the current prevalence in wider society of king hits and cowardly striking, especially amongst young men, this is an important moment for the AFL. What Rance did was a dog act and the MRP should, IMO, use its powers to add weeks onto what would otherwise be a one week ban (intentional, head high, low impact = 1 week).

Problem is that this is a test of integrity in a body that has none.

Agreed, and coupled with the incorrect and misplaced focus on the outcome of the incident (i.e. the damage caused) rather than the nature of the incident itself, I fully expect nothing more than a one week ban (with the words "after receiving a medical report from the Melbourne Football Club").

Just heard Slobbo say on SEN say that Richmond ran out with the younger brother of the young man from Diamond Creek who sadly lost his life to a coward punch last week.

Then this from Rance....

The team must wear an older Brisbane Bears style uniform, saw that and wondered what that was doing out there, now I know.

Alex Rance - well worthy of wearing a yellow stripe on his back. The mark of a coward.

None of his teammates tried to defend him. They knew what he had done. All they did was try to pull him away from Viney.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
