Big thing I noticed tonight was the amount of scrub kicks and times caught holding the ball we did, speaks of heavy legs from last weeks run fest. Hopefully look a heck of a lot better next game after some solid recovery work. PS for anyone that was there, my daughter was the girl on the field at three quarter time in the 3 shots on goal thing they did for BCNA with the 3 kids. She got her third one through and was super happy about the cheer the crowd gave her. Big thank you if that was you cheering, you made her night!!! 🙏😊❤️💙8 points

On a few occasions the player agent said that Melbourne gave the best presentation they’ve ever seen, amazing to hear. On Jackson, his name was only mentioned because Cerra was keen on Melbourne however his agent said Fremantle would probably want Jackson, and that’s not going to happen. It was Cerra’s agent who brought up Jackson by name, no one else. Let’s not look for something that isn’t there to create drama when it’s not required.6 points

Great video. I loved seeing the snippet of Goodwin's half time address. Would love to see more of it (and the QT and 3QT addresses, and indeed anything else from behind the scenes).6 points

Plane lands at 11am on Wednesday, straight to the accomodation and the very slow pub crawl will start from docklands into the MCG, 2 x Dee’s supporter and 2 x band wagon supporters from QLD coming down for the festivities!. Cannot wait for the game, scared how much merchandise I’ll buy before the game…….5 points

Sheesh people around you must get frustrated with you. Your own post is right there in black and white and you're trying to deny it. Trying to be pedantic about individual words is ridiculous. You go back and read your own post. You take what an Agent said and turn it into something it wasn't. I've been on here for a long time and you're now only the second person I've put on Ignore.5 points

Football commentator makes prediction... Supporters outraged.... more clicks on website.... more advertising... football commentator given pat on back by boss for creating website traffic... football commentator makes more crazy prediction... more supporter outrage... I think I see a pattern.5 points

Mate you've written a post that conveys that an Agent on the doco said something that creates a worry the Club were prepared to trade Jackson. Whereas the Agent on the doco's express words were that Melbourne were not prepared to trade Jackson. A lot of people on here won't have access to that show and you are inventing a damaging falsehood you have taken the time to communicate to them. I call that dangerous. For some reason I had rated you as reliable. Won't be doing that anymore.5 points

Lord Nev, paraphrasing can lead down rabbit holes that aren't there. D'Orazio said after our presentation. "I got off the Zoom call and Adam and I were chatting and he thought I really want to go to Melbourne." Later they go back to the Cerra situation and D'Orazio says "The main reason he won't pick Melbourne is they won't be able to facilitate a deal." Connors says "Won't trade Luke Jackson." and he says "No. And to their credit their presentation is the best I've ever seen.....They focused on Cez and said why they think they're good and why they think they'll make you great and went through Petracca and Oliver and how they were just good and suddenly they are top 3 players of the Comp." There's nothing obscure there and that's word for word.5 points

I hate everything to do with ‘cancel culture’ but fully support David King being cancelled after seeing this.5 points

Obviously any selection is only a guess at this time of year ...... but to leave Max out ..... stupidity. I reckon the practice game he played against Carlton was off the the planet and Brownlow votes worthy. Not a bad start to the season.5 points

So frustrating watching our women try to beat one more opponent before kicking. Far too often they get caught or the kick is smothered. Lucky to get the win in the end.4 points

Come on Lord Nev. Are you suggesting your comments aren't saying you were a tiny bit worried we were offering up Jackson for trade? Irrelevant if you didn't say he was going. The actual words from D'Orazio should have left no room for you to be a tiny bit worried about Melbourne offering up Jackson at all. Frankly it's dangerous to suggest that.4 points

I doubt it would have anything to do with Jackson. Melbourne has shown they can wheel and deal with picks at the trade table, they probably backed themselves to bundle picks, trade up etc to get a top 10 pick for him.4 points

Mithen needs to have Mark Williams in her ear - she could be something special if she made better decisions and executed her short kicks better. Libby had a mare in her 50th. Just looked in her head all night. Maddie Gay and Colvin bailed out the backs a bunch. That game was probably good for them going into the prelim.3 points

Terrible performance and pretty difficult to argue that the better team won. Perhaps the trip to Perth didn't help but, with so much at stake, we looked incredibly half hearted, indecisive and overwhelmed. Hopefully they can take the week off to rest up, refocus and bring a much better performance in the preliminary final.3 points

If Carlton win tonight, it's 4 in a row for them. They're one of the form teams in the comp, and I'm glad the girls were able to get the win, even if it wasn't the big win we all hoped for to give us the best chance.3 points

In a strange way I don't want the 2022 to start. I like being the reigning premiers. Yes I hope we go back to back but it's almost like I don't want other teams to take attention away from us. I'm already sick of hearing about DeGoey and Essendon when I watch the news. Maybe I'm a bit nervous about what will happen this season and Wednesday night.3 points

The other moment involving May that I've heard quoted (actually in the other Fox doco) is apparently in the middle of the BANG, BANG, BANG goal scoring tsunami, Steve May is saying to the mid feild "Ok, let's shut it down and make sure they don't score again before three quarter time". Oliver recalls that he turned to Trac and they were both like 'NAHHH, let's keep pushing'. Love the bulls we have at the club all over the field that complement each other. The intense defensive mindset of Lever, May & Co down back lets guys like Clarry and Trac do their thing and go hard offensively when it's on.3 points

As part of my podcast's (Lace Out) Season Previews for 2022,, I was pumped to chat to Peter Molan, from the awesome Deewatch Podcast about our admiration of the Demons, and if Melbourne can be back-to-back premiers? Who will stop the Dees? Listen to find out who... Check out the preview: https://lace-out.captivate.fm/listen It would be great to hear your feedback on the episode as it was about OUR CLUB so a bit of extra love was put into it!3 points

On a different note, for those who thought our deal for Jessie Hogan was a dud. Freo let Cerra go for pick 6 and a future third rounder. He had no on or off field baggage and is on his way to being an absolute gun. We got pick 6 and 23 for Hogan who was gone in what two years without hardly playing a game. That's not a comment on Hogan who I wish the best, just a comment on the trades. On another side note. Scully turned into the pick we used to get Hogan who turned into May Kolodjashnij and Sparrow. Thank you Tom. Where is he now?3 points

He must want publicity for not picking Gawn. The All Australian captain, premiership captain, hero who kicked a goal after the siren to win his team the minor premiership and tallest player ever to kick 5 goals in a final.3 points

Mind-numbing rubbish. So many things to complain about in this selection but I’ll just mention one: why does everyone rate Jeremy Cameron so high? Yes he could once play but what has he done for two seasons now?3 points

Interesting that Jack was the only player to remonstrate with Daniels for flipping Max over the boundary line. Again, its the little things that make big moments. Anyone else get the feeling that Petracca was about to refer to Daniels as a 'midget' but hesitated long enough to say a '5'6" player' instead.3 points

In the context of the previous 30 minutes, and especially the last 15 minutes, where we were only hanging on defensively, Viney does deserve credit. We got the first inside 50 of the third quarter, and then only had another 2 in the next 17 minutes. Viney took an offensive mindset and hit that stoppage pretty hard, and so the fact he fumbled is not that surprising. We probably had a bit of luck in that Bailey Smith also fumbled, but full credit to Viney for making something happen offensively after a long period of nothing happening for us.2 points

After giving “the best presentation they’ve ever seen” (by Melbourne), Cerra was obviously keen (on coming to us). His agent stated he just couldn’t see how they’d get a deal done, “they’d (Fremantle) would probably want Jackson” (it was a quip). When Cerra’s agent asked Melbourne how they’d get the deal done, their response was “don’t worry about that”. It then ended there. Read what you’ve posted above, which I’ve highlighted in bold and italics. You’ve created a scenario in your head that didn’t happen, then posted it as almost being fact. You’re essentially catastrophizing, and it’s not the first time you’ve done this.2 points

I'm more than happy to apologize if my post was misleading, but I've read it back numerous times and not been able to draw the same conclusion as you. Can you quote the part where I said a player agent said Jackson would be traded? I'll absolutely concede my mistake should you point it out, so instead of going for personal attacks maybe show me where I went wrong.2 points

6 months after the big day and watching momentum gave me goosebumps. Unbelievable final series and GF just fantastic, we had to wait 57 years, but made it worth the wait. Would be incredible to be at G and watch them go back-back in 2022! The goals in the third were just electric, Fritsch, Fritsch, BBB, wait a few minutes Brayshaw amazing courage, then Trac, Sparrow & Clarry, awesome! Go Demons!2 points

No Zanker hurts. Damn good thing we recruited Liv Purcell and she's coming good from the ACL to minimise this. We need a solid win here for shot at top spot and for the saints to take it right up to Adelaide (knocking them off wod be even handier)2 points

Oh dear, lapping up the delusional words of their Pres (below)?! Spare me. We've heard about these expectations and predictions for years. As much as I like and respect Cook, I can't see a bunch of second-choices and second-raters delivering them to the promised land any time soon. That warms my heart, having endured too much Carlton success (and arrogance) following footy from the late 70s, early 80s. On-field defensively (I'm talking about whole-team defence), they are pathetic. Listless. Outside Weitering, they have a bunch of one-way running, unaccountable, selfish, possession gatherers who are not prepared to sacrifice their game. We know exactly how important this is and how long it takes to get that part of the game right. Bloody years and years. Their first-round drafting since 2016 has been - to put it kindly - grossly ineffective (SPS, Dow, O'Brien, Stocker, Kemp, Philp) except for Walsh. I know it's early days for a couple of those guys, but these are the blokes that should form the core of a team that contends - and I don't think they do. Perhaps acknowledging their hit-and-miss (mostly miss) drafting of top-end talent in the last 5 years, they've decided to trade out their first-round draft picks in the last couple of years for over-paid so-called stars, also for questionable returns. As for Vossy, the jury is well and truly out. Things ended acrimoniously at the Lions, relationships broke down. He may have changed his ways. He may have discovered himself and learnt how to delegate, trust and manage people. The word out of Port is positive. But I wonder. His merry band of 'Traveling Wilburys' assistant coaches does nothing for me, either. In short, I hope (and expect) they stay in a deep, dark blue footballing abyss for a long, long time.2 points
