The paint on the laundry ceiling of my apartment is already peeling off in large flakes despite allegedly having been redone before we moved in. Clearly an inferior brand of non-Melbourne-sponsoring paint. You'd never get such failure from our esteemed friends at Haymes Paint!13 points

\ 100% with you Dazzle, i'm eating Humble pie for calling for Goodwin to be replaced, the players very clearly believe in him, and he's got these genuine guns of the comp to take less money and commit long term. and if the reports are true he's got us firmly in the mix for Z. Merrett as well. Just an FYI, the same person who told me Trac was in talks for an extension (admittedly he got the period wrong) did also say Luke Jackson will be signing on as well until the end of 2024. so fingers crossed for that one.12 points

Both Brown and McDonald are 28 years of age. Weideman needs to be hung on too.10 points

Not sure why anyone is worried about the money. We’ve signed all the pillars, unless we get done for cap breach, don’t worry about it. Jetta, Jones, Melksham, Hibbo, Tomald all on the way out. Kids like Kozzie and Jackson aren’t signing money deals until they’re at least 23. It’s an odd realisation I know, but we seem to know what we’re doing9 points

The money Roos got from us was well spent. I shudder to think where we would be if he hadn’t come across. Maybe you don’t remember 2012-13 so well. never forget the Foundations when rebuilding May the Curse be lifted….9 points

This is Goodwin more than anything now.. I'm a bit over Roosy still getting kudos. He left 5 years ago. Yet nothing on Goodwin whos created the environment for these players to want to stay and sign long term. This got nothing to do with Paul Roos or Peter Jackson. People need to move on from Paul Roos and Give Goodwin the credit he deserves. His time with us was a bit overrated imo.9 points

Will be in the side in the next 3 weeks and won’t lose his spot. He will sign8 points

A questionnaire to be completed at every turnstyle by all Swan supporters. Fail, and there's no admittance. Q1. What numbers did Stuwie Gull wear at South and at the Deez? Q2. How many goals did you lose by in the 1987 semi final? Q3. What was the free-kick imbalance in your favour in the 1990 round six game at the SCG which you won by a goal? Q4. On a scale of 1 to 1,000,000,000,000,000, how grateful are you that Brasso saved your sweet backsides in 1993? Q5. Could you please outline in an essay of no less that 1,000 words, where the estimated $350,000,000 has gone that's been shovelled into your club over 30 years?8 points

Thanks Tracc. And thanks MFC. Getting some great signatures of late without all the will he/won't he BS. So happy right now.8 points

The Pies obviously need to find a key forward but their mids are even more of a priority with both Pendles and Sidebottom close to the end. They will leave a huge hole. Think someone like Treloar would be perfect for them.8 points

Can't believe people are still buying the BS that Collingwood cleared cap space to target a big name free agent. They cleared cap space because they paid too many blokes huge money on long term contracts, not to mention the Beams debacle. Sure, they were shooting for a flag and nearly got there. But last year's clear out was fixing a god awful mess, not clearing space for a good player.8 points

Jesus, Petty is only 21 still! Feels like he has been around for a long time. reckon I’ve been a bit harsh on him for a lack of composure at times. Hopefully it comes. His hands are great and looks a good lock down defender. good luck to the kid7 points

Watching Harmes last week in the VFL, he didn't really star in a 100 point win and I don't think he's ready yet. Sparrow is fit, fills Vineys role well and is slowly improving. Harmes needs to earn a spot and be match fit.7 points

I believe some of us (supporters) will have to be managed for Saturday night. Way too much excitement for this early in the week. Well done MFC and Trac!7 points

Front loading a contract can sort that out. Tracc is a generational player. He deserves Top Dollar ? He is like RDB in the 1950’s7 points

Where the hell is @Wiseblood??? He's been the voice of reason and positivity around here for years when you'd have to grasp at straws -> should be at the front of the queue in enjoying all this.....7 points

Trac will make plenty of money outside football. Just look at Dustin Martin and his deal with Bonds for one example. If you are a marketable superstar it makes no sense at all to hold your club hostage and risk losing players if you want to ever win a flag. Trac is no dummy.7 points

Oh Demonland, where the biggest star-signing any of us have ever witnessed can turn into a debate about whether Paul Roos was worth the money spent on him. I'm with @binmanand @Rodney (Balls) Grinter. All the goody goodness to Goodwin's good Dees. Loving this ride.7 points

Disagree. Number 32 was, in my view, best on ground by a mile. Weed was good and worked hard. But he benefited from a woeful defence and the ball coming in under no pressure. Missed some gettable shots. And frustratingly applied little forward half pressure and I can't recall him laying a tackle.6 points

I'm in the camp that one week probably wasn't massively unfair. But i did think he also might of just copped a fine based on it being accidental not careless. Or some such. But I'm also in the camp that an appeal was a total no brainer. I mean the only downside I could possibly see is burning 10k. Which of course is easy for me to say. Even if we had lost the appeal, you could argue we still get some press coverage for our sponsors and some we're a top club, don't mess with us vibe for our fans. But the reward for winning the appeal is the clincher. We are a better chance of winning this game now. And for any number of reasons that is worth WAY more than 10k.6 points

Big call, but agree. Trac is the sort of player you build a club around RDB is a great comparison, both in playing style but also star power. Dusty is an obvious companion too, but no less accurate for being so. The genius of dusty is how he performs in the big games. Three Norm Smiths is mind blowing. But he has also played a lot of top shelf, game changing games in other finals and big home and away. To get to Dusty's level that is what tracc has to do, which of course means having the opportunity to play in big games. But i have no doubt he will be desperate to prove himself in such games. Where he does differ from Dusty is he gets more of the ball. A lot more. He is averaging 30 odd possessions and is weapon all over the ground. Whereas Dusty is really a forward who has bursts as an on baller, particularly at center bounces, (from which he almost always goes forward). He doesn't really go into the backline at all. Welcome by the way.6 points

That's true about Goodwin, but the foundation was laid by Roos and Jackson for whom we should be forever grateful. Roos got the dollars sure (and he enahncedh is coaching reputation), but the club got what it paid for as well. Self respect, a level of credibility and the bleeding stopped. Without that Goodwin had nothing to build on. A house built on sand will not last. In terms of the present, not being inside the tent we will never know just how much an impact on performance we have seen as a result of the master appointments of Williams and Yze. I suspect nothing changes without their skills, strategic and teambuilding influence on Goodwin. The quick 100% turnaround to the selfless, lowering the eyes style of play tendered as eveidence. The true talent of the list has now been exposed by many. Success has many parenets, failure is an orphan as they say and kudos to Goodwin for keeping it together in 2019/2020.6 points

The big thing for me is keeping our list as fit/injury-free as possible. Do that and we'll give 2021 a real shake. Luck is so tied to success in the AFL. So yeah, keeping a lid on it...6 points

Why not get excited? The lids off, its way off. We have the cattle, the game plan and the coaches to go all the way. The players are resigning on long deals at a rapid rate. Everything (bar Tomlinsons injury) is going right at the club for once. However it’s very competitive at the top end of the ladder, there’s about 6 teams that have shown enough to suggest they can win it all this year. Just being a team that can contend, come back in games when challenged and win games gets me excited. We are a competitive chance to win any game, against anyone in the competition and that is enough to get excited about.5 points
