  1. Rapt with that. I really want Oscar to find a new home. He has more to offer.

  2. I'd suggest we offer Oscar and pick 43 for Adelaide's Pick 33

  3. Do NOT sleep on Treloar, as I thought when JM spoke to traderadio —We are 100% in this but it’ll ALL depend on TMAC. if we somehow find a suitor by Weds COB, Treloar WILL be a demon. We are his preference which has altered things but unfortunately we’re about $425k short this McDonald must find a home (word is we are even offering to pay a record % of salary) but until Cameron and Saad get done it’ll stay stagnant. Fingers crossed, cus he’s be the ideal wingman and my info is that he’s happy to play that role which again has altered thinking. However it is still unlikely unless TMac finds a home. This is also why BB deal isn’t done, for we’d need pk26 for any trade w/pies. Remains prob 15% chance but absolutely we ARE in it. Couple of nibbles for other players that free some extra space but again we won’t move in those if TMAC doesn’t happen. Others: mild interest in Vardy, A.Phillips, Xerri & Cox (only if we miss Treloar) & Witherden said no thanks to Vic as a whole. ?

  4. It's been suggested here on Demonland that Jack was a St.Kilda supporter as a youth, so it could be an emotional decision...the old club colours, the team song, the smell of a freshly singed dwarf.

  5. And Ess has so many trades in train and playing a tough 'poker-face-you-blink-first' game by asking the world on outbound Saad/Fantasia and low balling inbound Wright/Caldwell then refusing to budge. Not to mention they are trying to get Dunkley. It ties up Carlton, Port, GCS, GWS and WBD. Not to mention some small side deals they might have eg Hind at Saints and maybe TMac at mfc. A domino involving Ess needs to fall soon. Of all the teams to be the bottleneck Ess is the worst one to wait on to move.

  6. Can't see the attraction. Mature age recruit who has played about 20 game in two years. I would rather Neal Bullen, of whom I am not a fan.

  7. SEN reporting that Ess have made an approach. Reportedly we are prepared to pay more of TMac's salary than GCS are of Wright's. Sam Edmund said the TMac move could just be a ploy to get Wright from GCS on the cheap. Ess had offered GCS a future 4th round pick for Wright so can't imagine we would get much more. But at least we would have the list spot and some sal cap relief. Can't say I trust Ess and they have had plenty of time to make a move so wouldn't get too excited.

  10. Interesting. i'll take a run at this. Ben Brown - Mfc 2021 Second round pick & a later pick swap. Picks 25, 43 and Mitch Hannan - Dogs first rounder - 15?ish (Dogs needing points ) Might need more here but general idea Pick 15, Brayden Preuss - Giants pick 10 (compo) Tmac - Bombers - Essendon pick 42 Out: TMAC, Hannan, preuss, picks 25, 43, future second rounder In: Ben Brown, pick 10, lots of cap space. (Optimistic but worth a try)

  12. Are you serious? Ummm lets see, he could have told the truth about the danger of the virus, he could have listened to DOCTORS and SCIENTISTS instead of his own insane ramblings. He could have told people to wear masks instead of drinking bleach, he could encourage states to remain Covid safe and work/study from home where possible, instead of threatening to withdraw federal funds from states that didn't 'open up'. He could push for more testing, instead of saying the numbers are high because we are testing too much. And he could have refrained from holding multiple super spreading events for his equally irresponsible supporters, and also perhaps not spread Covid to 90% of the White House by WEARING A [censored] MASK! He has spent the last 6 months saying "we have a vaccine coming" (we don't yet), "the virus is going away" (it's gotten worse), and "it's not a big deal when you get it, you just get over it and become immune" (240,000 people have already died, and there is no evidence to suggest immunity is possible). So basically what should he have done is acted like a leader, and not like the orange halfwit that he is. He should have cared about the health of the people who elected him president, and delivered a consistent message about mask wearing, Covid safety, social distancing and so forth. Oh and he should have passed the second stimulus package he's been [censored] farting around with, to help those who have lost their job as a result. To say he has no power is to admit you know absolutely nothing about US politics. He has a senate majority, hence he has ALL the power. About a quarter of a million people will die before this moron leaves office. Tomorrow Biden will release a task force filled with ACTUAL DOCTORS AND SCIENTISTS to lead the Covid recovery, and has already said they will push to mandate mask wearing. He isn't even president yet, and already he's done more than Trump has in 4 years. Sounds about right.

  13. From https://www.statsinsider.com.au/afl/charting-the-afl-premiership-clock-how-far-is-your-club-from-its-next-flag Bottom right quadrant is bad, too old and not scoring enough. Top right is good, mature age high scoring. Bottom left is rebuilding younger teams Melbourne it would seem just need to kick more goals, shock horror. GC are interesting. Very young with a % above 100. Last 10 premiership teams in the lighter colors. I could get to like Ben Brown.

  14. It's not like he Deliberately plays badly Its his fitness and form one would think.. Just hope he can turn it around and stun us all as Tom is a great Melb Clubman who deserves better.

  15. We've offered Nick Hind a 3 year deal, as has Essendon.

  18. I do not think Treloar will end up a Dee. I would give it less than a 1 in 20 chance. Phillips of the Filth variety is still a better than even chance. A few things need to get done to unblock the logjam. I think tomorrow we may get the Hannan and Preuss deals put to bed.

  19. I think it's a bit irresponsible for the AFL to allow the trade/free agency period to begin without giving the clubs an answer on salary cap/list sizes for 2021. clubs are effectively working around their best guesses and with a blindfold on.

  20. The trade period is becoming a time of rejection. Players and teams are rejecting each other even though, in some cases, they’re contractually bound together for another year or two or four. Clubs are rejecting offers from other clubs and, as a consequence, the days end with little achieved on the surface. We know that will change by 7.30 pm on Thursday evening but for now, we mostly wait as we always do on Essendon’s Adrian Dodoro. While a number of potential deals surrounding the Essendon Football Club remain in limbo and one — Orazio Fantasia’s move to Port Adelaide’s — may be about to fall apart, St Kilda seems to be pressing its claims as the competition’s home of choice to players on the move. Today’s big news was Jack Higgins’ request for a trade from Richmond to St Kilda. And apart from that ...

  21. We're entitled to explore a paycut option, and you're right that a paycut for someone on $700k per year isn't disastrous. But his career is on track to finish at the end of this contract no matter what. He has a daughter, and to be perfectly honest he's entitled to the money we owe him on his contract. So if he doesn't take it and instead prefers to stay with us and try to break back into the best 22, that's his prerogative and we'll have to deal with it.

  24. Dees should be keeping TMac. I think it will be a regretful mistake if he moves on. Slimmed down he can get back to his best...! Back him in Melbourne. It’s not like we are going to come out with a top 10 pick for him. He is versatile, can play forward, back, push up onto the wing and pinch hit in the ruck...! I believe moving players on especially in contract is a club that is ordinary at developing players and mismanagement...!

  25. any draft picks we bring in will be used in a package to shift up the order as much as possible, i fully expect us to have a first round pick this season

  26. Can't say I agree. We re-contracted Tom in 2018, his FA year when several clubs were pretty keen on him. So the club had to go some way to meeting the market so I'm not overly critical of the $, especially if it was part of a back-ended deal (not saying it was). What concerned me more was the 4 years (apparently without triggers) knowing that he missed the first part of 2018 after double ankle surgery and had subsequently injured his toe.

  27. On Salem, I think we will see a different player in 2021. Over the past few years it would be difficult to be that run and carry HBF as you are mindful of the ball being turned over, little forward pressure keeping the ball locked inside our 50m arc and your opponent hurting you on the rebound. I think with the back 6 we will have plus the defensive running of our wings it will allow Rivers/Hibberd/Salem to take more risks knowing that someone will cover your opponent. The reason why Houli is so damaging is he knows that if he takes off, his forwards will pressure to keep the football so he isn't caught out of position defensively and if he is someone will help him to cover his man. We need more forward pressure it enables your HBF to take more risks. I'm surprised we haven't been linked to any small forward through trade talk.

  28. Wife barracks for Essendon and even with my MFC bias I couldn’t agree with this. Saad is better defensively and is more attacking I would suggest both are probably on par with their kicking. Salem is good but should be more damaging.

  29. Hey guys, recently I've been putting together highlight videos of Melbourne players 2020 seasons, I hope you all enjoy them. If you've got any suggestions for players you'd like to see or any improvements just let me know. Here all the videos i've done so far:

  30. The deal I would be pushing is: Tom takes $100k drop We pay $250k New club pays $350k No use having him on the list and the above frees up $450k of our salary cap. For the recipient club it is a 2 year risk on minimum money just like us with KK and Bennell etc etc. For those saying why should Tom take a drop the answer is simple. At Melbourne he wont get a game and in two years his career is effectively finished.

  31. Dreamteam (AF) points in 2020: Harris Andrews - All Australian 2020: AF = 44.9 per game. James Harmes - Outside MFC top 20 B&F = 44.7 per game.

  32. How do clubs trade players when they don’t even know the size of the list or pay cap for 2021. Are the AFL back in Melbourne or still on holiday in QLD. Silence from the AFL is deafening.

  33. I think he will probably be a bargain wherever he goes. IMO the best out-of-contract player we have. Just isnt working for him at present. At 196cm and 24(?) yrs old, his best is in front of him, but still may be a year off. I expect him to be in the ones at Adelaide and pushing into top 25 if at Pies. He is friends with Darcy Moore already and they may work together well.

  34. I'm pretty confident Clarry will sign on for another 2 over the off season :) don't believe we'll get a long term deal, i think we will convince him to hang around until F/A and then if we don't improve we'll lose him.

  35. So far looking likely options (imv as very tough guesstimates) pick swaps with Lions 43 and 2021 future 4th rd for MFC 53 and future 2021 3rd rd Ins. Ben Brown for MFC 2020 pick 43 and future 2021 2nd round Andrew Phillips for MFC (Lions) future 2021 4th round outs. Hannan and MFC pick 68 for dogs future 3rd round Preuss and MFC 2021 4th round pick for 2020 GWS pick 31. TMC for EssFC future 2021 3rd round pick OMC delisted free agent Leaves us with 2020 2nd rd Pick 26, 31 4th rd 69 + Ben Brown + Phillips (x Preuss Hannan Tmc OMc) 2021 MFC 1st rd Pick , DOGS 3rd rd pick, EssFC 3rd rd pick

  36. Watching Tmc in 2020, he was not moving well. Turning circle of the Titanic. He was getting his hands to a lot of marks but failing to hold them like a forward should. It’s a tough one. Certainly the memories of 2018 give us hope. Also thought it might give us some trade value. Hard call. Maybe a good preseason could be the difference.

  38. I've been a critic of him in the past but I thought his 2020 was one of his better seasons. Needs to venture forward more often and kick those classy goals from 50 on the run, in order to be more of a threat to the opposition.

  39. AFL Trade Radio reporting that Tom McDonald is not on Gold Coast's radar. Seems that he’s not on anyone’s radar at present and if so, we have to manage our list and our trading on the presumption that we keep him.

  40. You’re right. Trump didn’t start any wars overseas. He just killed 240,000 of his own people by doing [censored] all about a deadly pandemic. What an America hero. Good riddance to this self centered pathological lying racist sack of horse [censored].

  41. I’ve had some communications with Tracey in membership. I’ve found her courteous and prompt (responds within 2-3 days) even though I know the membership team are very short staffed. Covid has had a huge impact on clubs. I think we all need to show a little patience for the time being.

  42. My guess is the trade will be Hannan + 68 for a future 3rd pick. 68 should come into the 50's and provide the doggies with more points this year for their academy selection while a future 3rd gives us trading flexibility as replacing that future 3rd round pick we traded to the lions allows us to trade our future first if we so wish.

  43. The idea we lack youth is ridiculous. We currently have the following players 22 or under on our list: Luke Jackson Charlie Spargo Toby Bedord James Jordon Trent Rivers Aaron Nietschke Tom Sparrow Harry Petty Kysaiah Pickett Kade Chandler Austin Bradtke That is 11 players 22 or under, or a quarter of the list. Plus we will also likely add 3-4 in the draft this year, granted we may also lose 1 or 2 off the above list.

  44. Exactly. There is no need to trade any of our midfielders. Getting rid of Brayshaw would be stupidity of the highest order.
