I’ve got some free tickets for tonight. Looking to give them to someone who couldn’t afford to go tonight and wants to see the Dees. PM if you’re interested.20 points

Drove to work this morning with 2 Dees scarves out the back windows. By the way, I live and work in Geelong.18 points

I feel this is the beginning of a long journey. We have all been there through false hope, rebuild after rebuild, coaches who would lead us to the promised land, future Brownlow winners, drafting gems, trade bargins, the works. We have looked for line in the sand games, turning points, coming of age and realisations. This is the true beginning, at the bounce this evening is where it all starts. For all of us. Players, coaches, officials, fans, this is where we get a taste, this is where they finally get a taste. And I'll bet it taste [censored] good. There will be more heartache for sure, but it will only make us want it more. Win lose or draw it begins tonight, we are back for what is ours and once these kids get a taste, nothing else will satisfy. If the competition hasn't realised it yet they will tonight, we are coming for what is ours, and we are coming hard.16 points

I note a number of posters are feeling nervous about the game. I'm not concerned at all - we'll win. I am however, very nervous about the large crowd and subsequent queues to get booze. The notion of the dees winning and me being unwillingly sober is very uncomfortable indeed.12 points

I'm playing a gig at Lambys in Geelong starting in 30 minutes. I'm already half cut and they're all going to know I'm a Demon Good times9 points

My pregame checklist (finals edition): Wearing Lucky Undies... check Read every article on the game and every demonland post... check Avoid breaking mirrors or walking under ladders... check Make my cat sleep outside as she has some black fur and I don't want to risk her crossing my path... check Give my kids a prematch address at breakfast about how THIS is our year... check Sit at my work computer pretending to work but in fact thinking about tactics for taking Dangerfield out of the game... check That's it, I'm done. Now it is down to Goody and the boys #RAISEHELL9 points

I just put the weetbix packet in the fridge. I have done that before, I remember it was in 2000 because I was going to the Grand Final and couldn't find my keys. They were on the weetbix packet in the fridge. Go Dees! Edit:- I'd better not use machinery or drive heavy vehicles today.9 points

Watched it in a pub in London with my brother and a small bunch of other Dees fans. I’m still trying to decide if it was all a dream. I didn’t get many chances to sing the song after before I moved here, and I can’t remember the last win I have witnessed live. But singing the song with a group of Dees faithful, and my brother after winning our first final in 12 years.....it actually felt a little surreal. You can’t wipe the smile off my face!8 points

Melksham and Harmes getting stuck into Selwood and baiting him into giving a free away when Hawkins was lining up for goal. Then Ablett comes on and Melksham gets up in his face calling him a 'weak c%$#' I LOVE THIS TEAM. GOODNIGHT GEELONG. I HOPE IT BURNS LIKE HELL.8 points

Sitting next to BBO. Wish I wasn't. He's already told the young ladies next to us that it's "their lucky night!" Edit. They're calling him Harvey. What does that mean?8 points

We’re built for this September stuff. Who’d have thought that watching finals is better than watching the draft.7 points

It's my anniversary today... luckily my partner has already admitted defeat a long time ago and knows The Dees always come before him. Poor man!7 points

Just went to Maccas to get some cheap grub to line my stomach. My order number was... 186. Not sure if that’s a good or bad omen ?7 points

The two clubs that have embarrassed us most over the last 30 years have been Hawthorn and Geelong. There would be nothing more glorious or fitting than dispatching both in consecutive weeks. Am I that lucky ?7 points

I hear you. Although, for me, that first bounce tonight will be like the last frame of a mostly harrowing movie.7 points

Just a reminder that JACK VINEY IS BACK TONIGHT AND WILL HAVE NO HESITATION IN DESTROYING ANY GEELONG PLAYER IN HIS PATH.7 points

Didn't fly before and probably won't again. But . . . Myself, and probably a few others on here, kindly ask our fellow Demon/land supporters that this thread be reserved for an in-game discussion of tactics and so forth, as free as possible from emotion and dire statements or sweeping generalisations. I've deliberately chosen to not watch this game in public, as I'm not sure that I can control my emotions in such a domain, and if I'm arrested I will probably be banned by my girlfriend from watching any further finals football for now and into the future. Still, I like to dissect what's unfolding before me, and can at least keep a poker-face on paper, and I would happily watch with some informed fellow Melbourne fans but there's only four or so of us in Amsterdam. As such, you're my only community. Let's keep it rational but with a rebel yell. Go Dees!6 points

On the Fox after match show u could see how proud Paul Roos was. You couldn’t wipe the smile from his face and the crowd was chanting ROOSY. We owe that man so much.6 points

Imagine our next batch of leaders contained Duncan and Guthrie lololol. Anyway... the best defensive game I’ve ever seen us play. All over the ground. Even our smaller players looked like physical bullies. Talk about clicking at the right time. We lost the games this year when we couldn’t convert i50s because the backdoor wasn’t shut, tonight it was baracaded. Was only a matter of time until Weed put it all together, again, perfect timing. What a game, so happy for him. Harmes 2.0 is built for the pointy end of the season. What a find, what a compliment to our midfield. Tomald’s first half cleanness was so steadying. Didn’t get the goals but didn’t kill our momentum, he solidified it by dominating up our end. Jack is an animal. Angus is another one made for finals. Going back with the flight on the outer wing was inspiring stuff. Just awesome. So proud. The [censored] Dees!6 points

Spoke to Max’s family member this morning. She said he was unusually quiet but very much in the zone and very focused. Hope his team mates are there with him. Go Dees ❤️?6 points

Pretty effing good trick! Honestly, Viney is a victim of short memories and the Amazing Progression of Oliver and Brayshaw. Jack Viney is a beast and a leader and if he fit enough, he is in that team and winning that footy.6 points

Just think, even if we lose it's better than not making the finals at all.5 points
