Brainless coaching staff

16 brainless footballers

No idea what to do

Deplorable skills

Useless

Umps refused to pay us HTB. What a bunch of cheats.

Good effort. But Christ almighty we are a really poorly skilled team. And some of the decision making is mind boggling.

I really am counting down the days until this season is done. It’s been painful.

Just now, layzie said:

Can't fault the effort, proud of the boys.

Just lacked polish..

Effort is bare minimum. Polish is what they need to show.

We truly are the turn-over kings.

Also, Fritsch actually should have been selfish with that goal opportunity. Tholstrup was never kicking that.

Port, GWS, Carlton, Brisbane.

Four games we lose through just dumb football.

Like why are you hanging back defensively with 1 minute left? Push up! Put pressure on them.

Anyway, good riddance this season. Let us never talk about it again.

Game  lost by dog**** disposal in the last quarter.

great effort by the boys. Billing’s and Tholstrup terrible misses … you can’t afford that in close games.

Billings should never get another game! Just awful!

Season Officially Over.

Goodwin amd Roffey neef to go

Effort was there but we have 2-3 of our 22 who have smarts and composure. Kozzie, macveigh , Melksham. I might have missed a couple but gees we just don't choose or execute the right option most of the time

@dazzledavey36 embarrassing post in game day thread re Clarrie, you’re better than that

As for the game can’t fault players effort but some dumb decisions with ball in hand

Great effort from the boys. Heart was there, just need to work on skills, which let us down in pivotal moments.

2 more games, let’s give us something to work towards in 2025.

We really lack a lot of class and footy IQ in our midfield.

Max too soft when the contest was hot.

Just rest Max for the rest of the year please, all I am asking for.

Tholstrup should have disposed of the ball when he marked 30 m out, we had clear path to goal. Instead he almost kicked out in the full. These kids will learn.

Well I’m very proud of our boys tonight.  Severely undermanned, but we took it all the way down to the wire!

Another very stark example as to why we desperately need to get into this draft and find some quality mids that can actually dispose effectively

The contrast between Butters and JHF and what we dished up skills wise was light years apart

Endeavour great but skills are deplorable

We dont need Houston

If Oliver needs surgery end his season now.

Goodwins coaching was poor tonight.

Kozzy was fantastic

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
