PREGAME: Rd 20 vs Richmond

I think it’s going to land as:

In: Petty, Hibberd

Out: Brown, Sparrow

Hibberd will come in to play on Dusty. I wonder if Ryan will come in for Richmond since how we have the 3 tall defenders?

The club obviously see our tall fwds as Petty and JVR. Petty was starting to look very good forward before he go injured.

We need a big senior body up there who can compete. Brown showed he couldn't do that on the weekend

Interesting bench.

Petty, Woewodin, Harmes?

One of McVee or Hibberd you would suspect.

Smith for sub again.

Think spargo makes us too small and if Petty is in I can't see Grundy being brought in just yet.

Interesting that Laurie was carry over emergency and not named on the extended bench, they probably want to give him a full game at Casey again for fitness reasons.

If the LUUURVE child Spargy pants gets a game again I will 🤮

Tomlinson has continued to deliver. There’s no need to keep pushing him back to the VFL when we have a desperate need for another tall forward and Petty can fill that role. It’s a win win.

I'm with Demon Spurs and have Petty as the sub and leave Smith forward; he did a pretty good job.

Therefore the bench is

[40] Taj Woewodin, [41] Judd McVee, [29] Joel Smith and maybe [4] Harmesy who has failed to perform recently.

Give Grundy another week's spell.

i wonder if goodwin will go back to his stated word, and play petty forward if they're bringing him straight back in

tomlinson had a few 'oh my god' moments, but he wasn't on his pat malone along with may, and played well enough to hold his spot - one thing going against him is richmond are not an overly tall forward structure

jj and sparrow looked knackered but i'm going to choose to blame the long break between competitive games

wouldn't surprise me at all if hibberd was the in for tomlinson, and petty came in to play forward, presuming bowey is right to go, i'd go:

OUT: tomlinson, brown
IN: hibberd, petty

smith stays as sub

if bowey is no good then tomlinson probably holds his spot for mine

What do you mean 'stated word'?

He's previously said we wouldn't tinker with the three defensive talls set up, not that we wouldn't play Petty forward...

Dunstan was disillusioned and heading out of the AFL system before we came calling apparently so no guarantee he would have ended up at any other club.

Disappointed for BB as he's one of my faves. Great human being too. If he's dropped on form rather than injury this late in the season though I fear for his chances of returning.

Worried that we're getting a little thin through the middle of the ground now with Spaz out with a sore calf.

Dunstan had a choice between the Dees, Gold Coast and the Bombers.

So no choice at all really then dazzle. Was always coming to the Dees with those options.

Apparently he had offers from Gold Coast and the Dees.. looks like he made the wrong choice.

Mind you he would have been behind Miller, Rowell and Anderson and any young players they wanted to develop

Most likely...

> Petty as defensive forward on Balta

> Hibb for Dusty

Dunstan was a monty for Sparrow surely?  Love Harmes but the difference between him & Dunstan in the last two matches were chalk & cheese.

Then again i might need to visit Spec Savers!

He originally said that when petty came back he’d return as a forward

Don't remember that, but okay.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
