I honestly think he's got more talent than we've seen and the right environment will bring it out, but it'd have to be bargain basement and a Mitch Brown replacement essentially and if he can win a spot, good on him

You'd have to wonder what people in the industry see in Schache, to be able to determine why they are interested.

They're clearly seeing some attributes that the pundits have missed. They'd also recognise the need for him to have a competitive nature. Has this been shown? Maybe... Clearly others think not... so again, what are the club seeing that Demonland pundits are not?

I see a guy who is competitive... and displays it differently.

I can't really imagine Beveridge playing someone who is not that way inclined.

Can't see it really, but I guess it depends on what WBD give us to take him. I would give nothing of any value.

Why do you think he would play better at his third club?

I see this as a salary dump like Bowes, who I also would be very happy to take on, if we could get Freo to pay some of his salary cap to help us get pick 7.

Freo appear to have a struggle on their hands, to get us good enough picks for LJ, so helping us get Bowes, or at least pick 7, if they can get Bowes, will be a very good start. Given Gary Ablett Jnr and Danger are both praising Bowes, that gives me even more confidence in going after him.

He’s played him 9 games per year on average and mostly out of necessity. He was ok as a defensive forward on Aliir and Lever in last years finals but doesn’t consistently compete in the air especially when he doesn’t have a starting point to work on.

Hes played forward, defensive forward, ruck, wing, key back for the dogs, and even took centre bounces as a mid for Footscray this year.

You name it, Bevo has tried it

I’m a No to schache!!

Been tried and tried and rested and not quite there. Darcy and JUH and Naughton and Bruce ahead of him and he’s not a defender.

Have no idea if this will come to fruition or even come out in the media and I put it down to pure speculation.

Was just having coffee with a few mates who I hadn't seen for a while and one of them is heavily involved with the Murray Bushrangers under 18's as a development coach.

We were speaking about the junior talent and then got talking about this year's trade period.

Out of the blue he mentioned that apparently we've shown some interest in Josh Schache and have had chats to Josh and his management?

I would like to think I can trust his word purely that he's got contacts within recruiting circles and Josh being an ex bushie.

I have own opinion on this and I honestly don't think it's the right fit even though we're lacking a key forward.

They can't be serious.

Rabbit in headlights.

While he's not without some talent,  I don't see how acquiring Shache improves our list in any way, shape or form

I reckon we would be in trouble if they didn't see it differently for Schache or any other player.

I'd really love to know if we put any work into Wright, because he has been an absolute steal by Essendon.

i was all over this that off season, had him above BBB due to his upside and age to grow with our group, have absolutely no grudges given BBB took us to a flag but geez we coulda used him, hindsight 20:20 given weid stagnation but would be more than handy right about now

Hahaha we are scraping the barrel in this thread

Was apparently seen having a French vanilla cappuccino with Mark Corrigan at a McCafe in Cranbourne. The club paid. It was part of a front ended contract offer.

He’s probably a lovely guy. He’s just not cut out for AFL footy and that’s ok.

If Schache came in to fill the depth spot left by Mitch Brown then I don't absolutely hate it tbh.

He'd come in on minimum chips and would expect to play mostly VFL IMO.

They can't all be zingers...

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
