Gone is to far up himself, missed three from twenty metres out, non quirky captain required! Yep

Our hunger and aggression has gone MIA.

We could have the best KPF’s in the world, they wouldn’t be able to do a thing with the quality of our entries this year.

Lingers? Looks like alter-ego Mr. Ed. pooped on the colours tonight.

First half just so wasteful in front of goal. 2nd half reamed by the maggots to set up the game for the Filth to win. Not one HTB l can remember against them in front of our goal. Even their blatant throws weren't paid.

It's the narrative of the season. Sadly many on here refuse to acknowledge.

How do you have 93 more possessions but lose a game of footy?

Pies are unfortunately the real deal and a few have been late to the party to acknowledge this.

I’d be surprised if they don’t play in this year’s GF.

Soon as Lagdon sung Duck Duck Goose. I had a I fear.

Enough with your obsession about blaming umps, so tiresome Clint.

Completely agree here. We dominated everything for most of the game. Umpires didn't cost us. We did it ourselves

But we bomb it long and play a total momentum killer who is never dropped.

Hope your smiling now Salem after an easy goal missed.

Cant wait for the we will smash Carlton predictions.

We have won one game in Melbourne in last 10.

Bit harsh on Salem, Gawn missed an easier one, not to mention 3 goals given away by over hand balling inside our forward 50.

Coaches need to sit Kozzie down and show him

2 x toe pokes inside forward 50 when you just need to put your head over the footy

1 x token arm thrown in at a ground ball contest inside forward 50 missing everything and allowing an easy clearance as opposed to locking it in

Goes for a mark inside 50 in the fourth but puts only one hand up and doesn’t bring ball to ground, Quaynor mops up out the back

Again contested ball on the southern wing late in the game just a hand put in, no ball or body, Pies go inside 50 and take the lead back. That was not long after the 1 arm marking contest

Those are instances which cost you in a game - simple rule ball or body.

Last year he’s hungry and takes ball or body, needs to do better

+93 disposals.

+22 CPs.

+20 clearances.

+24 inside 50s.

+1 extra day break on our opponent, who was coming off back-to-back six day breaks.

That should be a 5-goal win, not a loss.

This is what makes it even more pathetic, put a fork in us

Hunger and fitness aren’t there this year, we used to slaughter teams last season.

I don’t know why a hard tag was not put on De Goey, the bloke has had 3-4 BOG’s against Melbourne whenever he plays us.

Our best players May, Lever, Gawn, Oliver, Petracca aren’t playing well enough to win games this year.

the heat came in the second half and we played soft.

Elliot and Johnson kicked 8 of their goals, that is where we lost it. Elliot seemed to get a free kick everytime he tackled a player and stripped them of the ball, a different umpire and that would be a different situation.  That is where the main difference was. we had a more even goal kicking performance with no one standing up and kicking a bag full.

let collingwood get ahead of themselves. the more there winning streak goes for the greater the chance of it coming to an end. We were not disgraced, we did not do as well as we should/could have but thats football, hopefully next time we play them in the finals, their big head will get the best of them and we will overrun them. hopefully we learn from todays loss, as it seems to resemble quite a few of our other loses this year.

It was up on the whiteboard before the game apparently

We just wouldn't make backlines nervous at the moment. Weid hasn't proven to be the answer, BB can barely move, Tom McDonald is looking more & more like the saviour and he was hardly shooting the lights out before getting injured. We're just not potent enough.

We had our chances to be well in front, so only ourselves to blame.

Pies played hard, with belief, some luck but 65 forward entries to 41 should be a five goal win

I hope Goodwin gives them a spray

They did what he tells 'em too.
Play down the line and kick to the pockets.
He's coached the dare out've them.

One thing is certain. The game has changed. Our game style is outdated and we don’t have the ball movement and skill to play an offensive game.

We will get picked off next week in the same way but will probably scrape home against a hapless Brisbane outfit.

We are not finishing top 4.

We needed to be more ruthless in front of goals but that doesn’t explain the 96 pts we gave up.

Its been a problem all year - but the way we allow the ball to cut through us when we press up so high means that it’s a shot on goal.

We are not as disciplined as we were this time last year, we are in the top 4 teams but the Pies have the wood on us. They play the way teams should play us so the FD needs to adjust and quickly.

Lol Buckley is trying to take the credit for the Pies' position haha. He was a crap coach, they're now performing with a good coach.

Max missed two sodas, Salems gift after the siren should've been routine, Melksham decides to snap on his left from 35m out in a 45 degree angle instead of earning his goddamn coin and slotting what was a routine drop punt goal. Keep teams in it and get overrun when you can't stop their momentum. Pretty consistent pattern this season. We are crying out for another competitive talk forward. Or game plan doesn't work when we are continually beaten in the air up forward.

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
