Petty??

Possibly but Naughton is so much more agile than Petty. The closest we have is Smith imo.

id go:

Smith on Naughton

May on English

Petty on Schache

Hibberd on Weightman

Lever on Hannan

DOnt ask who I’d drop for Smith though.

So exactly how bad is Keith's hammy? Three weeks puts him back in the frame for GF

Tom Morris just said he will play. Weightman back too.

We need a few Dogs injuries to good players.

So I take it you are not following Ange and his Celtics?

I thought the Celtics were a basketball team based in Boston Maldonboy?

Maybe we could just play 19 on the ground to ensure correct match ups and still enable Lever to intercept

Both teams had 20 scoring shots with the Dogs more accurate on the day.

We were also still in a bit of a rut form wise as well.

I have severly overestimated Port. I thaught they were tougher than this but are completely peezweak. This is a real choke. 2 best sides to play in grand final.

Gosh the bulldogs are making me feel nervous about the Gf already. They are scarily good and the midfield is going to be a great battle in 2 weeks.

Port are a disgrace to the people that have to watch this. They shouldn't be wearing prison bars they should be behind prison bars.

To be the best you need to beat the second best.

In Round 11 Naughton kicked 1.1 from 14 disposals and 5 marks.

In Round 19 Naughton kicked 2.1 from 9 disposals and 3 marks.

Tonight to half time he has kicked 2.1 from 7 disposals from 6 marks.

In other words: twice this year, we've curtailed him.

Yes. I fear ports rucks and midfield more than dogs.

Hannan 3 goals in a half? This games just in a parallel universe.  We've got this in 2 weeks.

A few dogs running into each  causing concussion , can i say that?

Thinking of the positives, a big win for the doggies will see them go in as favorites for the granny. will take some of the focus and pressure off us

I think a lot of people will still have us as favourites regardless of tonight’s result, Port’s body of work against top 4 sides is still a work in progress. Our premiership drought brings enough of its own pressure.

Awful prelim final weekend for neutrals. Last night was amazing for dees fans and tonight is amazing for dogs fans I'm sure, but how fun could a smashing be to sit through if you're not invested in the winning team?

this is starting to read like a normal nervous gameday thread.

Relax people and enjoy the game.

Reallity is that in the GF we wont be as good as last night and nor will Bulldogs have a run like tonight

Concussion protocols need 2 weeks which would get them back just in time.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
