For those wanting to disengage from footy until Game Day by listening to more footy content.

Thought this was very honest with some Gus humour thrown in.

He's a great media performer but he also just seems super genuine, which seems to be a theme with most dees players getting interviewed this year, less catchphrase cliches and more stuff from the heart.

Terrific spokesperson for the players. Quality person.

We all miss you guys as well Gus😔

All of us want you boys to give it your best shot and bring home the flag to the best club in the world.

FOR THE RED AND THE BLUE !

As much as it hurts not being able to be there in person over in Perth, we will be shouting loud and proud with joy every goal, mark and magic you boys will bring our great team.

We are so proud of each and every one of you at the MFC club.🥰💖💙

You all beat me to the mark. Just saw his presser.

Quality person, quality footballer.

And for those who doubt his effective input into our stellar season so far, take a bath.

Have you heard Adam Tomlinson?

We are so blessed with the quality of people at the Dees. Gus is so thoughtful and considered with his answers makes us all so proud.!!

He’s great to listen to. His podcast with Gawny is really fun as well.

He should have a long career in media. Speaks extremely well. Cannot remember a player speaking so well.

i think people aren't getting the most important message out of this presser - gus is now the (admittedly self-professed) best basketballer at the club

Considering the quality of basketballers at the club I’m pretty sure he is just winding up his mates.

Impressive young man.

Love his sense of humour too

He’s a good one Gus and is a key driver of the new culture and standards at the club. Presents very well. Love the interviews with him and Gawn and Trac and May recently.

Agree with all the above, also add Lever, May, Lingers, Petracca - makes a refreshing change from the usual “Yeah, nah”.

I love watching Gus when the boys sing the song after a win. He’s like the band leader and really fires it up. Needless to say, I looked like him in my lounge room doing the same thing on Saturday night.

Smith and Jackson would smoke him.

Yes, your point is?

As I was listening, was thinking all the things I'd say about Gus. Then read on and found you'd said them all! Thank you, everyone:)

Would just add, through the constant and widespread messaging, I'm genuinely believing now that the players are genuinely playing for US!

Except when we lose, in which case the podcast is apparently a distraction which should be canned so that he can focus on football...

(Tongue slightly in cheek here).

I think he lost weight!

I'm getting horrible flashbacks. High school was a lot of things, but mostly it was kids being better than you at stuff, and everyone being really loud all the time.

Would not recommend.

He's honest, articulate, funny, and easy to listen to. Definitely got a future ahead of him in the media if he wants it.

It love listening to the Gus and Gawny on the podcast. Gawn is also honest and funny, but not so much articulate, which actually adds to the dynamic, with Gus frequently bemused at Gawn's slaughter of the English language. Very entertaining.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
