Clayton Oliver. My goodness if that's a junior game you'd be taking him off the ground at half time as to not destroy the confidence of everyone else. Unbelievable.

has tmac been at oscars medication,he is having another shocker

a good quarter could have been great if we had kicked straight. still a handy lead, now start again and build on it, dont go into a shell and try to defend.  Need to continue to attack, and preferably kick straighter. Fritch probably needs to banana kicks more when he is on a 45 degree angle as he seems to miss these the most. Go Dees

An absolutely incredible quarter. Every facet except... scoreboard.

It'll be bloody amazing viewing on the replay... only if we win. Traumatic if we lose.

Keep the heat Dees.

Dangerous margin.. hopefully they come out breathing fire and kick straight

The dreaded 30 point lead.

We should be another four goals up but it’s clear we are the better team, need to put them away early and kill this contest for good.

He is the best player in the league…absolutely huge

Tracc's significant goal on the training track from here on is to find some options by foot or hand when he gets the ball around the arc.  Needs to find some finesse or just kick it to the hot zone if no one available for BB/Macca to take a run at it and possibly Kozzie / Spargs mopping up.

Should come with alot of hard work but seems a fair way off it right now.

Closer to goal, within about 30, he appears much more dangerous.

They scored 1 goal from a50m that qtr to 4g 6pts to us

Game should be over

That was much better. We could have killed this game if we kicked straight. Game is still there to be won but we are doing very well. Brisbane will reset and come out firing.
We must come out strong after half time.

Yep, play the full 4 quarters Dees, there’s 2 weeks to rest at stake.

Welcome aboard Cam Mooney.

Remember last week. A margin like this is nothing. We have to keep playing fast and working hard. A couple of little bad signs in that last few minutes. Brown marked it outside fifty and didn’t pull the trigger on the pass as he had earlier……

Kepp. Working. Hard.

then what final score do we need?? 20.21.141

McDonald started to get into it & lever  & max looked much better. Just need to keep doing what we did that quarter & finish off. But I would have taken this lead at 1/2 time especially at 1/4 time when it was close

Trac has been good in close. Two poor shots on goal and a bad entry undid all his good work but his work inside a big reason why we are so far ahead.

I'm giving Tommy benefit of fact that he may be parting Red Seas & we can't see on tellie? Love the man and deserves one at him lace out.

Oliver

Petracca

Fritter

Jacko

Kozzie

Langdon

gawn

Brown

all brilliant that quarter

Joel Smith keeping Cameron quiet

Salem seems to lack intensity

Good kicking is good footy

If tracc can kick straight / smarten up and we keep this up we should be ok

long way to go though - can’t write the lions off ever

I normally scoff at things like this but I’m open to being converted right now.

Lions form coming into this game was a mirage. they are a better than average team and not much more

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
