Rising Star Rd 08: James Jordon

Featured Replies

Just announced JJ Round 8 Rising ️ Star. Well done James.

Grats young fella.

Has had a great start to his career and shows how valuable a reasonably long apprenticeship in the 2's is.

Surprised me how good he has been tbh. I have never bagged him (iirc) but didnt have a great deal of confidence that he would play as well as he has. I have been consuming my share of humble pie this year i must say.

Love that he’s got the recognition.

Great little bit of development by the club I reckon - this is his third season on the list, but he just simmers away in the background until he’s ready, and makes an immediate impact when he forces his way in.

Really enjoyed his year so far and looking forward to seeing how far he can take it.

This guy is already a solid citizen in the best performed team this season. There would not be one teammate who wouldn't be happy to see Jordon in the vicinity, nor one opponent who would be expecting to easily avoid being tackled by this bloke.

Well deserved gong !!!!

All reports prior to the season said he was flying and almost a lock for the first game.  Fair to say i for one did not expect him to play so well.  He is not BOG every week but playing really well and deserves all the kudos from earlier in the year. Definitely a regular and first pick in the 22,   Well done.

Congratulations JJ. Hope he becomes a future club champion and Premiership player.

Well in James excellent season to date, great recognition for the young lad.

Dees on ??? ??

Tough, smart and skilled midfielder.

Great recognition for his hard work.

Congratulations JJ.

Didn't know if he was going to make it, but he's exactly the balance we need in our midfield. Can play inside and outside, great defensive side to his game. Good user of the footy.

Thought he might be a sneaky chance this week.  Great recognition for a very consistent year.

Reminds me of Junior. Tough bugger.
Big fan.

The older types on here will remember when a bloke by the name of Andrew Obst came over to join the Dees.

Can't recall exactly who said it, but clearly remember one of the team staff claiming that he would be a "mild sensation".

This young fella has a bit of Andrew Obst about him. Not necessarily his game style, but his worth to the team.

He and me mates still call Hunt "the new Oba". Highest compliment we've got for number 29.

Talk about tough.  Well deserved and earned.

Great reward for hard work and effort, well done JJ!

This shows the value of developing our kids at VFL level and blooding them when ready. From the time Junior presented him with his jumper and the way he performed in his first game I knew we had a solid mid. Great result and great numbers in the midfield.

Seeing him in #23 brings back those memories.

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
