I have never been 100% convinced that Oliver has the team-first mentality to take us to a premiership. My mind has changed. To go all-in and sign so early in a season when we promise something but haven't delivered yet shows he not only wants us to get there but is willing to bet his career on it. Lovely.

OMG this is the icing on the cake, 4 zip and Clarry re signs!!

This is such good news!

He's an odd cat, our Clayton, so it was very difficult to get a read on the whole situation.

Go Dees!

Whoever started that rumour about him going to Carltank needs to have a good hard look at themselves.

Had heard it was a 2 year extension on decent coin to take him through to free agency and looks to be correct.

Still bloody happy he’s signed on. He’s the best 100 gamer I’ve seen and best inside midfielder in red n blue in my years supporting the club.

For the first time in 20 years we have actual leadership.

Gawn signs on, Lever, Viney. now the younger players are signing on early.

Stoked. he’s SO important to the club and carlton u can just go [censored] off!!  I wished he’d signed fr longer tbh but I appreciate coming into FA he’d be looking at a monster contract. gotta get the job done in the next 3 years or our window will be gone. now or never dees!

This. Is. Good. News. Looking forward to collecting the details so I can jam it down every Carlton-Supporting-Mate that have already bought Carlton tops with #13 on the back

just out of curiosity how many of those mates did u have?

  • Demonland changed the title to Oliver Re-Signed Until 2023

Massive.  Love him even more for sticking fat.  Now just get on the scoreboard clarry, slow down just a little mate (less is more sometimes) and you'll be a superstar.

This is another sign of... I whisper it quietly...that the club has changed.  Our stars are not departing.  If we can lock away Petracca then.. well... sheesh.

That picture of him in the opening post? Dude is seriously ripped.  He is a physical specimen of an athlete.  Sort of a chubby  doughboy draft night.  Not any more.

Fantastic news, kids been a superstar since day 1 he’s barely played a bad game

SWYL approves

See what Winning does. Makes people stick around

Might have to open a Single Malt tonight.

Likewise this season things seem to be different, the boys playing for each other is fantastic to see. He has to become a leader now and help drive us to a flag

It was the usual suspect.

I have tears of joy running down my face

How good is our football club???

Tracc on 360- wrapped about Oliver.

Said difference between now and two years ago is we take feedback heaps better and are more mature, whereas two years ago, we may have said 'get stuffed' to feedback.

Well...my nephew’s 15th Birthday party just came to life and he’s wondering why there’s only 13 candles on his cake.

Fantastic news.

Ripping news!

Gotta say I appreciate he's vibe on the field, like he's really he's own self. Mix between enjoying the hell out of himself, [censored] stirrer and super competitive. He pulls it off b/c he's so damn good!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
