Happy with this.

Chain him to Langers and learn the wingman role. His disposal is not dissimilar to Langdon,  just needs the tank and workrate.

A few of these potential wingers could be chained to Langdon over the preseason - Hunt, Harmes and Baker!

Hunt and Baker have no tank and Harmes will get sucked into the contest. Langdon is superb at positioning and freeing himself around the contest. He could teach them a lot. I still think the only bona fide wing we have in the side (apart from Langdon) is Fritsch. I would be very happy for him to chain himself to the wing club too. Fritsch has the tank, speed, kicking skills, vision and nous for the job. He could also have stints in the forward line depending on needs.

As much as I luv what Jayden can (occasionally) bring to the table, it concerns me that after 6 (?) years at the club, we haven't been able to find a permanent role for him. We started him in defense - and loved his run off half back - then tried him on the wing, then moved him forward for a couple of years (where he has been one of our top goal kickers for that time), and now we have swung full circle and, if reports are correct, we have him training with the backs again. By now he must be the most well rounded player in the squad - or the most confused.

The fact that he hasn't found a permanent home is a major concern for me. Is this the fault of our development team and our selectors, or does the problem lie with Jayden himself for not stamping his name on a particular role?

Many posters have stated, his defensive skills need to improve. Others have included that his field kicking skills are lacking - yet he is one of our most accurate kicks for goal.

Personally i'd like to see him provide the dash off half back again if we can afford to lose him from our forward line. But i really feel we have failed in our proper development of Jayden, but hope that with our new coaching team we can at last find the best role for his unique talent, and develop him to own that spot.

It’s interesting that Hunt is back training with the  backs  and Harmes is with the midfielders isn’t it. Perhaps the coaching panel was trying to be overly clever in moving them,  but these two owned those positions a cpl years back. Sometimes you have to stick with your strengths.

The issue that the club had with Hunt of half back was his decision making and disposal, the run and dare was always great but the final execution let him down.  Playing him up forward, he didn't really bring a great deal of defensive pressure more a fast hit up small forward.  I think he will be looking at being the number 1 small lock down defender ahead of Lockhart and Jetta

Very happy to hear Hunt is training with the backs. Going back to 2016 & 2017 he looked a potential A grader. It wasn't just his run and dash that impressed me,  I thought he looked good defensively where he showed good commitment.  Definitely has the pace to line up on those small forward types. With Nev struggling I hope this works out.

I agree with a lot that has already been said about Jayden, I believe that 2021 will be a good year for him, he can play half back, wing and is a real opportunist around goal but I am really thinking Rivers and Hunt off the half back line would be very hard combination to beat.

If you are looking for speed to break the lines we have him J Hunt played his best football off the half back flank.

He knows how to kick a goal running through the middle of the ground and links up well.

just how good he can be

Hunt is a racey guy. When on the move, I cannot recall him being caught by an opponent. Field kicking is at times erratic but we have Yze back again, so he will make a difference there, I'm sure. Hunt's abilities earmark him as a flanker and a space-finder up forward. Like the re-signing - heaps.

Even if he doesn't improve, he's still a very good, mature-bodied player.

If all of our fringe players were of his quality, we'd be in a pretty good spot.

Hunt has looked good at times forward and has looked good at times back. Definitely more opportunity for him down back I would suggest if we are going taller/smaller rather than medium size forward. I still dont think though you can have him and Hibberd in the same back 7 being they are both distance rather than accuracy players.

Hunt never "owned" anything, which is one of the reasons he was moved forward. Good on the club in being proactive in trying to find other positions for them - but all players have their limitations, and Hunt and Harmes are depth with a couple of tricks, and will never be anything more. Of course, all clubs need depth, so hoping they can establish themselves, wherever they play.

His biggest issue has always been he goes missing in action during parts of the game, when he’s in full flight he looks like an absolute star. I really like him, hoping he can settle in a position whether it’s forward or back.

Has games where he looks the goods but consistency eludes him. Doubt he'll nail down a regular spot in the 22 but his versatility is a big plus for the team.

Change of rule re manning the mark might mean that Hunt back on the half back flack (or wing) would be very difficult to stop running through the centre of the ground. Whilst not the best kick into a leading forward, if he is a designated handball receiver running 50 metres and having shots at goal he could be back to the weapon he was in 2016.

Don't be surprised If Rodman goes past all but Langers for the other wing.

Has a tank skills and today stinga likened him tip The Bont!!!

Sorry Mellie I have already ruled out Fritta far too valuable up forward for the wing and will take a power of beating as a vastly improved converter and and marking  option in 2021.Don't disagree with you on his skills but our forward line needs Bayley's 40 plus goals far more than the wing.

As I said Rosman  is training as if he wants That wing and I believe he will get it if he keeps his level up. Plus he can go forward for cameos ( no not to switch necessarily with Bayley).

Sslem can go to a wing possibly if Hunt or Smith or Hibbo make a flank their own along with The talented Mr Rivers on the other.
Were looking much more serious already along with BBB plus Jacko and Tommy sharing ruck ( Tommy as reserve defender also ) snd cresting  havoc up forward also.

Agsin I rule out a Jacko/ Tommy wing other than for desperate changes needed if we need more drive.

Spargs has been reported as a lock with Kossie for Round 1 with his improved preseason so far.!!!

Is so good with ball in hand and generally a score results to self or others when he gets it.
