Cash in on the Suns being $2.20 underdogs

Yeah how is that even possible? Clearly they have been playing better than us. Baffling.

It's ok now that I've backed the Sun's the Demons are sure to get up. You can all thank me tomorrow night ;)

Be annoyed for 5 minutes then finish watching series two of Inbetweeners on Netflix. Life goes on.

Reflect, for days and days, on the demise of the team, the loss of key players, the inability of the Coach to reverse a declining competitiveness and our players' development results, the increasing distance between current performances and a premiership, and the rash decisions made by the Club in a continuity of mediocrity. Then I will concentrate on golf for a few months.

This will benefit my fluctuating hypertension because after that I just won't care

I was as [censored] as I've ever been on Sunday night through Wednesday now I'm full of optimism.... come on fellow Demons think positive today...we got this, the Dees will turn it on today and win by 6 goals. Our season is just beginning.

Have another drink, sigh deeply, feel terribly frustrated and get on with something else.  If we win, I will be pleasantly surprised.  We should, but that doesnt mean we will...

It only shows there are many deluded Melbourne supporters willing to punt.

Move on and watch less AFL  like I'm doing now . Never stop my support but just will take less interest in All AFL as i normally do.

If we lose this one I will refuse to see my parents, siblings and friends for at least 5 and a half more weeks. Not even joking.

Pay out early on a bet with a Doggies’ mate and express post a slab to him on Monday. At the start of the year he said we would be bottom 6, I said nah no way...slab on it?

Feel certain the loss was all O Macs fault ?

Unless it's a particularly violent battering I'll be upset for about four hours then get on with life. This season is an the biggest pre-season ever.

They are out to $2.55 now!

Blame Jack Watts.

Wait no... who’s the current whipping boy again?

Do what I normally do and have a few extra coopers pale ales.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
