Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Lever, Hannan, AVB and Joel Smith... will be so good to have them back.

A star backman, a crafty forward, a raging bull and a great athlete who played great in JLT.  Sadly it will be too late to turn around our season by then though.

Unless they’re all injured on 2020 season eve

If Frost ran through the midfield on a Cripps or Fyfe they’d have 60 & kick 6. The answer to the original question is Frost is delisted at seasons end. He’s not up to it in defence or forward and certainly isn’t a midfielder . As soon as Lever & May are fit it’s OMac & potentially Petty playing for th 3rd tall if required

At this stage I disagree with any talk of delisting Frost. We turned over about a third of our list last year after finishing 4th! Not saying they were all wrong but we now struggle for depth so we don’t have the luxury of dumping guys like Frost just yet. Unless we have identified better replacements from other clubs.

yes Frost is not a natural footballer, he is an athlete and a quite extraordinary one at that,  big, strong and fast and he can catch a ball and he can kick it long. Just not a lot of finesse.

at the moment we need him down back but if Lever and May come back, can we potentially use him elsewhere? If not the midfield, what about the wing where he can chase and block the opposition transition? Geelong have developed Bliscalvs in that role. Does he have more footy I Q?

To stress I am not saying this is ideal, it is just trying to make full use of what limited resources we have.

i reckon he’s got to be a strong chance.

An 194 cm athletic type who can take a mark and play both ends (and relief ruck).  It is something we need.    He deserves  a chance.

For those that believe in past history:

Round 1 - Richmond beat Carlton by 33 points. Lose to Collingwood by 44 points the week after.

Round 2 - Port beat Carlton by 16 points. Lose to Brisbane by 17 points the week after.

Round 3 - Sydney beat Carlton by 19 points. Lose to Melbourne by 22 points the week after.

Round 4 - GC beat Carlton by 2 points. Lose to Adelaide by 73 points the week after.

Round 5 - Bulldogs lose to Carlton by 44 points. Lose to Freo by 19 points.

For what it's  worth I wouldnt mind seeing him have a crack in defence. Not like we're playing for sheep stations any longer eh !!

Let's hope so. I really hope Goody is now beyond playing Weid all year for development irrespective of form and pitting T. Smith vs Keilty for that spot this week.

I think I’ve given up on match selection. I’ve been pretty quiet on DL during the week and it’s pretty much because I have nothing to add lately. How many more changes can we really put through the wash cycle? Oscar to VFL, Weid to VFL, Trac to VFL I honestly think there’s been 3 players that haven’t been suggested a run in the Magoos.

Keep Hore and Lockhart in, maybe persist with the Stretches and ANBs (mostly through lack of alternatives) and the rest can just happen for all I care.

I hope not. Seriously, 10 disposals at VFL level and people are suggesting he should be promoted!! Would rather persist with Weid as his form will eventually turn. Keilty is just not at AFL standard, that is why he is still a rookie.

How about you show some respect for Jonesy who has bled red and blue and then I might return the favour.

Exactly. With Viney out, our team is now weaker. Let’s just hope some attitude and will to win kicks in. How about adopting a “beat your direct opponent and get the footy” mentality.

Frosty stays .. In the side as a Tall Wing option!!

Give the Guy a Break, has been very good this year!

Waiting for these injured players to return is like waiting for a tradesman to turn up. They give you a time, you take time off work, you wait patiently, only for them to reschedule at another time totally unsuitable for you. You want to sack them all but you need someone to do the job. You are stuck and have to resign yourself to be patient again. SO FRUSTRATING. Sort of sums up what being a Melbourne supporter is all about.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
