Oi, Oi, Oi!

Excellent news!

like a bull at a gate when he came back into the team.

Very glad he has signed on.

There yarrr Hoges look how easy it is

Well that’s good news. We need big solid players. Now he can put in a full pre season and hone his skills further.

Yes!!!! Love vanders. Weirdly he was the player I most didn't want to leave

Great News. I love the way he plays. Look forward to a fitter version wreaking even more crashing plunder.

Excellent news. Was talking in the phone when the text came from the MFC.

The other side of the conversation wondered what had happened.

Go dees.

Over the moon about this. When he first came back this year I wasn’t impressed but his end to the season was exceptional.

A player built for finals!

Thank God for that! This news has made my day, well done Vanders!!!

Excellent news on an otherwise 'no news' day for the MFC.

Thanks for sticking with us Vanders, in what I expect was a very tough call to make.  I hope our Club has done some stuff to make things easier for you on the family front, and that we can reward your loyalty with something special!

Really brilliant news. Just love his hardness around the ball. He might muck a few handballs up but the other team know he's there.

Fffing stoked.  Best news all week.

Club obviously has reasonable confidence that hid body has fully healed signing him to 2021.

Really looking forward to seeing what he could do in our present side, with a good preseason under his belt.

Good. Now for Mr Hogan.

This is good news. Vanders is one of those spiritual-type players that is worth more to the club than what appears on the surface.

Bloody love Vanders. Great news!

Absolutely tremendous - he is one hellava guy, hard worker, etc, etc, and a main reason to go to the 'G to watch the Demons play. Worked his R's off to get back into the team and sorted a few for us in the finals coz he could. Ripper. Phantastique! Bewdy, Mate.

Sets a benchmark for Hogan to live up to, doesn't it? Great Clubman.

Amazing news! Don't know about you all but I'm a bit emotional about this one. Speaks volumes of his character, he deserves the very best in life.

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
