Well, Diamond, it is not easy to put a finger on it, precisely; there have been so many formative and progressive ideas and tenets across recorded thinking processes, and explanations, in the search for colour, light and movement.

Some is progressive, some is regressive, some is mere cant, some is purely beaconesque.

The parallels between these ideas and the selection of the MFC team lists this year can be extruded; it has been a battlefield of strong and weak forces acting in wilful, disarming ways (AFL and umpiring) against a torrent of favoured positional assumptions (eg: The Filth, Geelong, Essendrug) for the maintenance of distinct advantage across the environmental operations ($$$$$$..), whilst not actually creating a worthwhile and improving arena (the competition itself) for the betterment of us (alleged underlings) in the overall pursuit of the welfare of the masses (the conceptualisation of the game, itself).

King on SEN briefly touched on how important half forwards are with their defensive pressure and positioning. Went on to say players don’t need to touch the ball all that often to have a massive impact.

He will show some footage of our game tomorrow night on 360 and singled out JKH as one of these players. It will be interesting viewing.

I was at the game and it was something that my brother and I discussed during the final qtr. We saw the flags above the old scoreboard end blowing hard towards Adelaide’s end. Whether that wind is the same on the field is another story. Maybe the stands surrounding the ground may create a whirlwind affect in the middle of the ground similar to the G?

We were tremendous again for the second week in a row - under-manned, away at a hostile environment against nearly full-strength decent opposition.

Of course for the "wins are all that matter" crowd it must be: vs Geelong = bad while vs Adelaide = good.

And the "mentally weak" crowd desperately searching for faults against Adelaide to maintain their slippery critical grip.

Interesting, I look forward to that! A good example of what the coaches saw in JKH as a benefit that we might have missed the first few weeks he was back?

As for the game it was a terrific win for many reasons.  Last week was shattering, this week be buttered up.  We were challenged and prevailed in a very hostile environment. Some of our players might have had poor games but all of them had their moments.  The weather was fierce in the last quarter.  The wind was blowing strongly to Adelaide's end and it was raining very heavily for a lot of the last quarter.  Having said that it's not possible for me to comment on the wind at ground level as I was sitting in the top of the stand on the eastern side.

Just a recommendation to anyone who hasn't been to a game in Adelaide, get there if you can, it's the best ground in Australia and fortunately we seem to play it well.

Completely agree VP.  I was a bit worried going to this game, especially standing on the hill and it being a Sat night game.  But the crows fans were great, I was more annoyed by some Dees fans that were trying to egg on the home fans into a confrontation for some reason.  Was out and about after the game with my scarf on and had many chats with crows fans with no dramas.  quite refreshing!

What were people's thoughts of O Mac's game?  I thought he played well. I was on the hill so watched him closely in Q1&3 and he was rarely beaten, fought hard and tackled well. Aside from that shot on goal!! 

I find it to be the defender's lot that you are bagged when your opponent kicks 7 on you and when you convincingly beat your opponent, you do not get any praise. I think he was one of the players that kept us in the contest in the first half. Jenkins took 1 mark and Tex 2 for the whole game

Besides Collingwood (Cox) and Geelong (Hawkins) I think he's had a pretty decent year and still only a pup.

Couldn't agree more. Was very hard for their forwards to get any separation, I thought he was outstanding. 

Definitely true though. On the flip side as a forward you can have a shocking game but bob up and kick the winning goal and you're a god!

Moneyball --- gold coin donation to the swear jar if you drop a mark

Boost --- like a roost but from the backline. Desparation time only

Aerial -- swim like her in the last quarter when it pours down

Tackle -- take this when fishing

Any advice would be great

I'm not convinced!

Seems very laconic in approach to the ball. Often gets outmuscled and gives up on chasing leads.

Obviously he is still young but I want a big lift in intensity and much more mongrel in my full back. Maybe we should get Ingerson or Neitz down to the club to show OMac how forwards should earn their goals.

I recall that 'moneyball' is used at our training to signify something - don't recall what it meant but it was discussed somewhere on DL.

Good to see Jack is allowed back in the coaches box.

Um, how on earth does ch7 get a camera to see into the coaches box to film such things.  I would have thought what happens in coaches box is sacosanct.

My advice is forget about the silly Adelaide / Melbourne replay. Just find yourself a nice Swedish girl and improve Australian Swedish relations.
