Not turning up until we were 15 minutes into the game worries me.

I'll consider getting carried away if we clean up Hawthorn next week.

I,ve suffered too many false dawns.

That unpaid mark just about killed my soul.

I was down Punt rd end with cheer squad and just assumed he would be going back to put that through.  Next second Norf are bringing it out of their backline.  I still don't know what happened!

Now if you just throw away all of your computers, mobile phones, hair-dryer, colour TV, microwave and waffle-maker we might finally break our our Harvey Norm Smith curse and win a flag again.

Only issue with that is it's not Norms curse.

The curse was of those, who sacked Norm Smith...   those poll-itically correct cussed's.

They are the bastardo's who brought all this political correct rubbish, and dumped it on this club.

This won't be popular, but I still can't wait for Bugg to go back to Casey.

Happy he kicked some, but by God he's awful.

good point BBO but I saw some real upside today .. a bit like GWS v Collingwood last week... GWS could not quite click

Hawks are a big test.... one we must win if this season is going to be seriously good.

Today's win like last weeks was pencilled in by most of us

Only thing that worries me is that we are a slow team ... we really need some players that can turn on the after burners

Bugg is one of those kind of players that will win you the big ones if he clicks....

He is the perfect decoy forward

Great game by Kent today. Lifted us in the first quarter with his tackle and goal.

He did a number of 80-100m gut busting runs to give an option today. Must have worked on his fitness because it really showed.

If he produces this form for the season he’s a lock for our forward line.

Would have felt like a bit of redemption for him too - it’s almost 12 months ago to the day against North where he shirked from a 50:50 contest running towards goal.

NO no No... lets not fall for that trap again;  of saying this player, or that player is a lock... no such thing anymore, at Melbourne.

... all players are on permanent notice, of their spot in the team, all year.

We do not need any over-secure players, getting at all comfortable.

The maggots were an absolute disgrace and should be a subject of complaint by the Club. The number of goals gifted to North was incredible. That Bailey Fritsch mark that was not allowed ruined one of the games highlights. May the pox descend on their houses.

That looks fantastic, mate.

Bit of black metal playing in the background as well?

Of course, need some ambient music to soothe the soul \m/

We are getting closer to 4 quarters of consistent football.   And it was good that once we got the lead they didn't really come back or get close.

And. It was great to get the win and exciting to finally break the hoodoo!

The next 3 weeks vs Hawkes, Tigers and Bombers will tell us a lot more than beating 2 of last years bottom, albeit much improved sides.

Win 2 of 3 over the next few weeks and the season will start to look really exciting.

Poor post really  bias you're one of those posters that have an opinion about somebody and even if said player has the best game ever played, your  opinion  is they  are still crap, when making a statement put some facts and not just hate.

There was a time, many years ago, before Hogan, Petracca, Oliver, and the like were on the scene, when I thought Kent was our most likely young player to come on. He hasn't, but today is a taste of what he could have done had he worked harder as a young fella and had he gotten a bit luckier.

He still might turn into something yet. Truly the forgotten man, but no longer.

There is still a few that HAVE to get their heads right.

We pushed one last year.

Maxy was one, and he has pulled his fingers right out, and is now a leading Pro.

There are others who are still flagged a little, from the time they entered into a flat Mfc,,, a few years back,,,  who still have to shape up. And have to lift their own personal bar,  to get to higher levels.

Tyson is one. has more in him and is treading water.

Bugg obviously, has been one.

Kent has definately been one of these.

Jesse has been one.  shown today he has a lot left in him, to lift his game.

TMc to a degree, until last season.

the Mfc holiday camp is Over.

This is the biggest Mfc HooDoo,,,  that is winding up, & is about to be ejected from the ground.

False dawns are the least of your problems, Bitter. I'd be checking out the nocturnals if I were you...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
