Might have been said already,  but if this was last weeks team we would have won.

We needed more running power.

Well if we all believe Brisbane has such poor tall forwards, I certainly hope our 2 x first round, $800k CHB really stands up.

I’m happy to go on record as saying we paid full RRP.

I wonder how much they would've asked for Laird.

Happy for Bugg. Honestly feel like he is one of our most underrated players. Guy works his ass off, gives lip and is always in the right places. If we win a premiership mark my words he will be in the team.

Bugg is a useless kick. I would rather not see him in the side. So frustrating. But eventually the selectors will see it.

Tyson in for Maynard is a no brainer. It should be a wet game and Tyson is twice the player in the wet as he is in normal conditions.

I don't expect a close game. I believe we will blow this one apart, even in the wet. We should win very comfortably. Far too much firepower in the middle.

Caddy tried to copy him tonight and came close.  He will get 1-2.

What Caddy did was clumsy.  Hardly deliberate. The ball was there to be spoiled. Would have been a simple free a couple of yrs ago....

Disagree, just watched it again on the AFL site and the ball was nowhere near the jaw of the Crows player. Wasn't spoiling a mark. You grab the player in a tackle or push the ball away or hit it with a straight hit to the ball, not a round arm to the jaw. Will go.

Not a gambler but do they ever post the size of the pool like the TAB used to do?

Just interested in whether games attract punters in proportion to the team followings or otherwise.

Cloudy, warm ,humid with showers up here in Brissie today and also expect the same tomorrow. Even if no showers the humidity will make for a greasy ball. Finally after a few years looking forward to seeing the Dees live and expect a good win.

Haha I 100% agree. Not safe money at all.

Not quoting you anymore @Petraccattack I just quoted you because we as supporters have had to enjoy 'dark' humor to get through a lot of seasons. But I firmly believe we need to change our mindset.

We are not an elite team but we are a much much better team. It's a long season and the start is always frantic (upsets and fast paced footy). This Dees team is playing some good footy, I for one am pledging to drop the negativity for the first few rounds

Curious as to the thoughts on Dean Kent.

The non-listing of Brayshaw as an emergency has created some discussion. Personally it’s pleasing to see Kent getting closer for a senior berth perhaps. Bit of a forgotten man....hopefully he plays a beauty at Casey today to at least keep the competition for forward spots fierce.

Is it going to rain? Interested to see if Josh Walker’s new hair runs.

It's because they wanted to get a game into him at Casey.

No point naming him an emergency if he's playing the day before.

He’s not a great kick but calling him a useless kick is an exaggeration. In 2016, the base level I would hope to see from him this year, his DE% was 72.2%. That ranked him roughly in the middle ahead of the likes of Vince, Jones and others. An imperfect measurement yes but the fact remains his passes were hitting a teammate almost three quarters of the time. His field kicking doesn’t worry me. It’s his kicking in front of goal where he needs to get back to basics.

Bugg brings elemnts to the side that extend beyond how good he is by foot. He brings energy, menace, and most importantly, non negotiable pressure in our forward 50 which was severely lacking last week.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
