Oh goodie the voice of reason with his rose coloured glasses is here.

We can all relax!

Nah chap it's just footy

Was chatting to another supporter who does support, volunteers, sponsors, saw the last flag,

We both agreed,  will get there, just wasn't this year, nobody died

Some really do need to get out more

The 2017 premiership will forever carry an asterisks. Let's win one when the comp is strong and there's at least a couple truly dominant teams running around.

Keep being negative if you like. I can feel it on its way. I understand everyone's negativity but I'll be so happy to com on here after we've done it.

When you have followed the dashing demons for decades in my case since the early 60s you have every right to feel negative!

And some need to realise that just because they feel one way doesn’t mean the rest of us have to.

After the Collingwood loss I've completely lost interest in this footy club now, even to the point where I rarely post on here now.

There's better things in life I enjoy doing right now then put all my time and energy towards this club.  We beat and finished on top of Richmond last year yet they are couple of hours away from potentially winning the grand final. I know deep down we are a better side then them and that what cuts deep.

Our end to the season definitely still hurts.

I'd prefer the Crows to win as they have two important properties: being the best team all year and not being Richmond.

It's tough to watch Richmond making the GF as a supporter of the league's other long standing punchline. A punchline we remain. Hopefully not for much longer.

The evidence is relative and indicates they are not.

Cannot agree more. We seem to very rarely develop players who go on to reach big milestone games with us. For example, Nathan Jones is the only Demon to reach 200 games with the club over the last seven years (I think Green was the previous one back in 2010).

So many of our players finish a career at a “Real” Club

I've barely watched the finals this year, partly because I'm in UK but mostly because of the way we bombed at the end it left me so gutted I didn't want anything to do with it.

I'm sick of us not being the ones at the end or not being one of the teams in contention. It frustrates me seeing other teams get to live their dream and in the case of the Hawks and the Cats do it multiple times.

But some of the negative thoughts on this post are so draining.

Yeah... Been hearing that my whole life. I've seen two failed GF's where we are never going to win and a lot of super poor years. I do not believe in we will get better cos we have talented youngsters. Been burnt by that numerous times.

Great way of looking at things. Honestly your setting yourself up for years of disappointment and no success so you don't open yourself up to failure, it's well played. I get it your a long time fan, probably compared to you I'm a baby. I've only witnessed the 2000 loss and the horrific years that followed.

But I do believe we will win it again. I believe it because 2 years ago Bulldogs fans were in this same position, and last year Richmond was in this same position. The records are tumbling and I feel like our time can come too, if the players are brace enough to take the chance.

If you honestly don't think we can win it ever then move along. We need to date to dream, it's what the tigers fans have done for so so long.

Same. I [censored] want what Tigers fans are feeling now. I'm 46 and don't want to wait until I am 80.

Sick of everyone saying the fans need to dream or not sook etc. The club would have folded long ago if not for us and I for one have had it. The players and administration don't respect the club or the fans that much is clear, we won't win a flag with the current list because they don't care, bar a notable few like Pedersen, Oliver, Petracca and Viney. The rest are content to collect their pay and turn up when they feel like it, without fear of ramifications

Yep, some fans think embracing defeat makes them feel better.

I'm the same.

I've avoided most football media for a month and have been the happiest in a long time.

It helps that it was such a terrible finals series.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
