Vaguely interesting article on a repentant Thomas Bugg.

I reckon every team needs a bit of a [censored]-stirrer / 'pest' and when in form he's best 22 IMO.

Looking forward to seeing some improvement in 2018.

Amazing & well done ....I can personally say his perception of himself is true & what happened

was totally out of character  (which also means I don't for one moment condone what happened)......I hope to see him in our best 22 next year & am fully supportive of him.

Excellent article!  Well done, Tom, for writing it.  Just goes to show how one moment in time, whether intended or not, can be life-changing.  Think the article says a lot about the character of the man.  I really hope he can put it behind him, and be a better person (and player) for the experience.  Really don't think any of us can cast stones...!

Trouble is when kicking for goal he cannot kit the side of a barn with a cow.

Been to the pond lately OD?

I find that a visit to the pond dispels any doubts and restores ones reality. Self reflection is very useful and quickly restores the disappointment of the human condition.

What a well written article; certainly gave some insight into the life

He does not present in this way on the field of play, maybe it is a belssing in disguise for the guy.

Looking in the pond didn't do Narcissus a lot of good Ernie.

It was a great punch and one he can be proud of for the rest of his career.

Quite so BB, I somehow thought I would not get away with it, and I used the reference very loosely. I have read ODs posts far too often to realise that he is no Narcissus and indeed is a flawed human being like the rest of us.

Amazing how people think he is a thug. Players have done way worse over there careers, take for example Alex Rance his hit on watts who wasn't even facing him I see as more of a thug act

Some of the worst comments were from people here hoping he would be sacked etc.

The week after Houli got four for the same thing ,his penalty apparently lower than Buggs because he is from a different theology.

I hope Callum Mills learnt his lesson.

A well written and presented article by Tom - it will be interesting to see whether his playing style will be different next year, for better or for worse.

And without excusing his actions in any way at all, I wonder if the AFL will ever crack down on those niggling elbows to the kidneys and the guts off the play that we see every week, especially before the ball is bounced.  I can only remember one being penalised - of course against MFC to CarlTank resulting in their first or maybe their second goal.

It is ugly and does result in what could almost be described as reflex actions with occasional serious outcomes.

Great piece of writing here from Tomas Bugg where he opens up on 'that' incident.

Very interesting article. I hope Tom wrote that solo.

Next year will be his making or demise.

I like the way he plays, and his ommission from the team hurt us on the home stretch.

Yep, agree 100% Mono!  That stuff is completely uncalled for!  Just play good footy, and beat the other guy fair & square!

I have every confidence Tomas will be the better for the experience.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
