You get what you deserve Melbourne! Let's hope this burns all preseason for them, they're probably preparing mad Monday for tomorrow though ????

The club should ban mad Monday, any player caught drinking out tomorrow shall rot at Casey for the first 6 weeks of the season.

They can drink at home all they want but going out in public after this weekends debacle would just be spitting in our faces.

New level of disappointment.....lot if wake up calls needed......like next season, how about starting in round 3!!! Anyone care right now about where we finished in JLT cup this year?? We went too hard too early....copper a heap of injures and failed when it counted

It seems we don't stagger our training correctly, probably understandable, since we never play in September.

See you all next year.

West Coast played today, like we should have played yesterday.  They were prepared to go the extra yard, and we on the other hand ....................... oh forget it.  Everyone knows what I mean.

Sadly, we got what we deserved (these words keyed through bleary eyes).  I can't remember ever being so disappointed with the final result of a football season. The only slight redemption is that it might put some  steeliness in the gut, and fire in the belly of our players.  Christ's sake they need it!

We all hope it would put fire in their belly but does anyone believe it actually will? They will still get paid this week. They don't care.

Just think of those games where we let the opposition teams score right near the end of the quarter.

They also specialised in giving up goals at the start of quarters.

It's irrelevant anyway - fire in the belly doesn't suddenly give you basic league standard skills.

We're always going to leave the door open for disaster.

No more than 3 or 4 will give a [censored] if we play finals or not.

Like i said in another thread, we have a team of Jack Watts's who dont care as long as they get paid.

MFC stand for nothing.

If that's how you feel you should turn your membership in. I know I feel like doing so right now

What a waste of a season.

2 x losses to NM, 1 x loss to Freo and can't even beat the filth when they have nothing to play for and we have everything to play for.

Disgrace. No other word for it. Have just about had it with this club.

Gawn needs a serious rocket, his pathetic back half of the year cost us. The McDonald liabilities need to be seriously considered as trade bait (both are too unreliable with the ball and decision making).

Hogan had a [censored] of a season and Viney was playing perpetually injured (our FD rushed them back and paid the price)

As for Goody and his mantra of 'wait until round 23', he clearly doesn't know how to fire them up too well, as we have shot ourselves in the foot sooooooo many times this year.

Fark, MFC can go and jump as far as i'm concerned. Player's don't care enough, if they did, they wouldn't have turned in that crap yesterday. We'll be lucky to crack 40,000 members next year.

I just got off the phone and was saying the same thing, we definitely played a lot worse when he came back, why? I have no idea.

Can we blame Gawn for missing that goal early yesterday or even jeffy or Tom for that stupid kickout to Cox.

This is why 5 years ago it was easier to support them when we were getting done every week. Yes they broke our heart but at least we knew they were crap. We didnt have to get nervous about finals.

This hurts big time.  A shocking way to miss finals.

at least we are giving people a laugh

Only now do I begin to truly understand the pain of those who witnessed 1987.

I was there in 1987. That was worse.

What happened this weekend was so predictable, so I was well and truly prepared for the inevitable outcome.

Absolutely copping it from Collingwood supporters. You'd think the morons had made the 8 the way they're carrying on.

[censored] you melbourne. If I had any sense I'd support another team

Now I know how Richmond supporters feel with they finish 9th so regularly. This really sucks, I feel for everyone that went yesterday hoping for the best and ending up feeling shizen.

I don't know what to do with myself. Usually I can just focus on the draft, but it means SFA now. Coming to Demonland feels like going to your ex's Facebook just after breaking up. Heartbreaking and sad.

I'm leaving this site for awhile.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
