I scratch my head when people on this forum defend guys like Watts until the cows come home year after year despite bringing no intensity or strength to the contest yet guys like Melksham and Harmes are always never given their due credit.  Both of these guys bring intensity and thats all that I want in players. not to mention melksham who has kicked some clutch goals for us in recent times.

I won't even start talking about Hogan and intensity but why did people ask for Pederson to be dropped? He was BOG yday. 26 touches and 2 clutch goals. You dont drop these guys after some quiet weeks.

Kennedy seems to be consistently good for Casey worth a try?

Apparently Salem was reported. Have to see how that pans out.

( No doubt Carlscum medicos scribbling away  )

It would be nice to think the Kennedy is potentially knocking on the door

He is a VFL player forget him.

I hope Garlett can lift. He has really gone missing. He did the same thing last season and its why Carlton were happy to trade him.

We need him in top gear now more than any other. He's due to kick a bag soon.

Let's not get too stuck into Garlett after yesterday's game. He's not a sacred cow but I thought Geary did a fair job on Jeffy yesterday. He was only an unlucky bounce away from two more goals. He's had quiet games but he will be massive value when things click for him.

He seemed on the cusp yesterday and had some bad bounces. He didnt put the cue away which was good and tried all day.I get the feeling he is heading to having a massive game or two. He needs more space and the Saints flooded us.

Also keep in mind he was home during the week for personal matters, hopefully he gets back to what we know his capable of this week. We need him back to his best.

Jeffy was way off his game. Im not potting per se. Its obsevational. He was clearly distracted. Whilst there may well be a reason for it he is out there to play afterall.

Hope he does click soon. He's distinctly un-clicked atm.

Should be a fun contested possession match - our lads vs Beams, Rockliff, Zorko and Rich. Do we have enough on the spread?

That's actually a scary midfield there

Salem unless suspended for Wagner and Watts for Weideman

Garlett has a few credits

Would not be surprised if we rested Petracca and/or Oliver but I hope not.

Cannot see Hogan being ready but perhaps he could  play VFL in the bye week all going well

What makes you think Oliver needs a rest

Every now and then I have to remind myself that Colin Garland is still on our list. Does anyone think he's a chance to break into the side still?

Sadly, like JT, I suspect that the game may have passed him by.

Goodwin gave him a name check in his presser, must view his output 'differently''

He also mentioned Maynard in last weeks presser but he still got dropped. For what ever reason Garletts output has been poor - going to ground, missing easy set shots and turning the ball over. I hope he's not dropped because he is needed but this form can't continue much longer.

Success is built on a squad, not a "best 22". We need to pick the best team to suit the circumstances.

We need to beat both Brisbane and Collingwood to make finals.  I'm not under estimating Brisbane, but I'm also aware we play the Pies off a 6 day break and we already have tired and injured players.

Out: Viney, Petracca

In: Maynard, Watts

I'd also like to see Salem for Wagner if he's not rubbed out.

Liked the efforts of Pedo. Got plenty of it. Hope he can retain his spot beyond R23

Yesterday we were better when he was rucking it seemed to me...

Will be interested to see if Bugg is forced to come back through the Dewies and if the club wants to make an example of him.

I for one was extremely disappointed in how they hung him out to dry. Yes what he did was a brain fade but we should support all of our players. I suspect he won't get straight back in.
