You jump up off your chair to yell abuse at a player and you make contact to that player, then blame the player for being out of line.  What a ripping bloke you are.

Seinfeld did a sketch about comedians being heckled - it was his work place. Turned it on an interjector - what if I stand outside your office door tomorrow and yell,

"Hey Doris, you're not much of a secretary".

Clarrie gotta learn to turn a deaf ear ...touch or handle is another (security) issue and AFL/MCC gotta investigate and make example.

Last week ABC journalist videod 3 guys giving her constant abuse at Qld fight. Got them banned for few years - no touching.

Abuse Manny or Horn - see how tough they are.

The AFLPA need to get involved here and earn their money. Support the player. That's the sole reason they exist.

I don't go to the footy to hear a meathead abuse the actual reason I DO go to the games.

I think the MFC and Goodwin have been a bit weak in recent times towing the AFL line and being polite. Time we stood up for one of our own.

If it is true that the Carton fan purposely made uninitiated contact with Clayton as the vision indicates, even discounting the abuse, he should have been ejected from the stadium. I would like the MFC to send a please explain to the MCG and the AFL.

Player safety should be sacrosanct. If the general public can get away with this, what is to stop it escalating out of control!

Beautifully shaped eyebrows and soft skin tones. Maybe his obnoxious aggro at a day out at the footy is over-compensating for something?

Mr Robert Acquaro a senior construction underwriter at Vero...

how would you like me to rock up to your work and abuse you!!!

Lets see if you can take it

I will be checking my insurance policies to see if this mob is somehow in the fine print.

And if they are and the scumbag does not apologize to Oliver and to the club I will certainly review my options.

WTF would anyone bring up their employment in this context?  Shows just how little cerebral higher functions this guy actually possesses. Which in turn makes one concerned that he may be making important decisions re my insurance.

Time for the MFC to show some backbone as a club and stand up for the player in public, in the same way that they expect the players to stand up for the club.

The moron clearly touched Clarrie, and used foul language to abuse a teenager whose only crime was to play for the other team. Everything about this is unacceptable. If what is recorded is true, Clarrie was prepared to take the abuse, but was took exception at being manhandled by a spectator, as he had every right to do. As, I'd hope, would every other player in a similar situation. The club should make this about the right of players to not be manhandled.

If this happened at any other club, they would have already made it an issue about the spectator, first thing this morning. But, as before, the club is choosing to let the story run away from them, and they've let it become about Clarrie, not about the spectator.

Unfortunately, past experience says that the most likely outcome is that the club will meekly capitulate like it has on every other occasion this year, and hang the player out to dry.

We have been absolutely dreadful at dealing with this sort of thing this year, every single time.

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team.
