6 day break coming up against a team who have either just had a fortnight's holiday or a week's, depending upon how you look at it.

will we see any suspensions come out of the match? ling on 3aw was pretty confident salem would be 'looked at'...whilst there's no doubt that vince could have a nervous couple of days for the number of skirmishes he was involved in.

we are crying out for some players who can have some ball movement.

OUT: bugg, kent, wagner
IN: harmes, stretch, melksham

it's another game that we should win but who knows with this drunk season - and it's not just us, the whole competition has been on the turps.

as long as we're down a 'true' ruckman we are going to struggle with any team that has a semi-decent one, not to mention a decent forward set-up. lynch and 2 metre peter will trouble us big time in the air, while witts could have his statistically most dominant game ever.

Outs -

Kent (have totally lost it with Kent and would be happy for him to play at Casey before he gets de-listed at years end)

Wagner (afraid that this is another one just not up to it)

Weideman  (might be a player, but needs 2 more pre-seasons and 25 games at Casey)

Ins -

Melksham

Alex Neal Bullen

Jade Rawlings, Greg Stafford or anyone over 194 cm that can take a mark

Salem will be fine - insufficient force. Vinci will be fine, unless they do him for being punched in the mouth and in the stomach.

I'm not a fan of Melksham.

But I am less a fan of Kent and in the last few weeks he has given us for nothing.  We simply can't carry Kent.

OUT:  Kent

IN:  Melksham

Going on the Casey game report no else did enough to get noticed.

Out Watts if we could.....

His disposal is usually great but how often does he take the game by the scruff like Reiwoldt?  He just seems so average of late and he is one of our most experienced players with 150 games. Look at Hannon for goodness sake he kicked 3 to jacks zilch. Where is this guys passion?

But for sure Weid.......should not have been in all year. Even if he got 20 touches a game he just does not kick any goals

I reckon Melksham will come in to the side, possibly for Wagner, although I'm not confident on that.

Do we drop Weideman?  No one could argue that he is horribly out of form, but can we actually do it?  And if so, who do we bring in?  Is Tim Smith ready to come straight back into the side, or do we go with another small?

I actually have no idea of the changes this week.

I can cut Kent a bit of slack, he missed a big chunk of the pre season.

...but I can't have all the rubbish that's get talked on here about him being an important player, tough, blah, blah, blah....

He's a poor kick for goal, can't mark overhead, is not interested in chasing and wouldn't land a tackle unless someone ran straight into his arms.

Now these are my observations of his career to date.

Today, in the last Q you can also add...not interested in the hard ball. When the game was there to be won he had an opportunity to attack the footy that was in front of him. Instead of attacking the ball he put one arm out and tried to play clever, the North player ran straight through the line of the ball as you should do and cleared it easily.

To be fair yes Weids needs a break. He can not play number 1 key forward however once we get our structure back with Gawn/Spencer in the middle, Hogan at CHF and Pedo FF with Jack W floating back and forward, there is a place for him, I believe. As he will be picked up by a smaller, number 3 defender.

Do we drop weid? Yes...sure we will have problems finding someone but you dont keep doing what doesnt work. He doesnt work yet.

Ugh. Weed probably stays since there's noone else.

Melksham was worse than Wagner.

Kent had chance after chance and failed. If JKH had to go then so did he. ANB straight in.

The game report only talked about the players who did well.  Trengove wasn't mentioned so I don't think he is banging the door down.

I desperately hope he isn't finished as I would love to see him play in the seniors again.

Based on the Casey game report only Melksham (and maybe Stretch) sound like they might have earnt a return to the seniors.

Any other moves I think is just deck chairs on the titanic stuff.

A couple of times, in our forward line, he held onto the ball for ages, I suspect looking to manufacture an outcome to small out numbered forwards and got clobbered. Last year I suspect he had straight forward options that worked or didn't.

One thing's for sure and that is that Pedobear will remain in the team when we have a full time ruckman back.

Weids must develop in the magoos.

Totally agree.  Gawn in the ruck with Hogan, Watta and Pedo is the way to go forward for the time being.  Hopefully we have Gawn and Hogan back in the side after the bye.

Many have been plying this line for a while. Today cements it.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
