You'd reckon Hunt is an out so maybe Gus or Stretch or ANB there.

Hogan if available in. I'd see Weed back out. He's improving but still has a way to go

Gus has been knock out again at Casey Bbo so he wont play in fact will he play again.

Yes they can, but not when the umpire initiates the contact.

The umpire went back and hit Bernie on the face, with the back of his head.

Didn't look too much, very surprised the umpire went off and stayed off.

Think Bernie may have taken a dive as well when he saw it was an ump on the ground.

The umpire made a nice big deal of it and took his sweet time to get off .

Another umpire went off with cramp.

After this the umpiring actually improved which I think is no coincidence.

not knocked out, od. took a hit to head, in first 2 minutes, walked off, tested and decided to not return

suspect he will have a looooong rest (months)

We probably need to talk about Wagner. I can't comment on his defensive efforts off the ball, but his disposal really hasn't been up to scratch since his return. Which I find odd, because I thought it was one of his stronger points last season. I would be happy to persist, as I think he has a future, but with Melksham waiting in the wings I can foresee an unforced change.

Not a Wagner fan but he played pretty well I thought. Much better one on one pressure than I have seen before and his link play was very good. Disposal is one of my knocks on him but overall it was pretty good. He is also getting used to the team around him which is very important.

Bernie had his back to the umpire  after being pushed by Sloane and would argue quite rightly that he was spinning back around to see the play when the ump collected him.

You would suspect that Hogan should be right to go, and one of Weideman or Hannan will make way for him.

Otherwise you would want to reward the players for what was close to a faultless performance.  Give them the impetus to back it up next week and break the hoodoo against Norf.

Weideman competed and tackled well but will have to make way if Hogan returns.

Hunt is in serious doubt. Melksham would be next in line on last week's performance but if someone plays well today the could also be promoted.

Wagner was very poor with his disposal and looks a bit slow and Hannan was very quiet. I would probably retain both but IMO Wagner only stays in due to the height of North's forward line.

Hannan has pace and with kent and garlett makes our foward defensive pressure better

Really glad Harmes is knocking on the door again. I think he's a really important player for us as is ANB.

I see Harmes, ANB and Stretch as three players that can play multiple positions and all great contested ball players. It's these types of middle of the pack players that the Bulldogs were able to make into consistent, team first footballers with an edge. We need more and more of them for depth if we want to be great over time.

Watching the replay and Petracca looks like he's dying in the last minute of the game. Keeps holding his knee and stretching and couldn't run. Hopefully a cramp from playing so much midfield and nothing more!

Hannan might be unlucky. If Kent hadn't got some junk time goals, I would have proffered him, but Hannan needs to do a little more. So Hannan for Hogan, otherwise unchanged.

Although, it might depend on how a few pull up too. I suspect that would have been a taxing game for a young side and we don't want them coming out flat next week. Billy Stretch come in if that's the case and maybe even Harmes.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
