Well since its a Sunday game MFC have an extended bench, so technically all of the melbourne boys on the bench could be dropped and by the rules of the game, Casey have to list all potential players who could play for Casey. So like I said, because melbourne have listed 7 on the bench with 3 to be dropped, Casey need to list all 7 of those players incase any of them get dropped to the 2's

Interestingly, Hannan is named as a starting 18 for the MFC, and is also listed as starting 18 for Casey.

The club never denied he was concussed.

I'm pretty sure Brent Moloney is playing for Wilston-Grange here in Brisbane.

That's a very quick recovery from Josh Wagner.

Recently the club announced his recovery was faster than anticipated, which is great given our recent wave of injuries.

The VFL Tribunal must be more lenient than the AFL MRP.

In the Jesse Hogan case the Carlton player developed headaches after the game (a symptom that might conceivably have been caused by another knock during the game or even from something else altogether) and played the following week but that was enough to put him out for 2 games.

Brayshaw was immediately concussed and went off. Now misses at least one game presumably as a result of the hit and the perpetrator gets 1 game suspension?

But this was a late bump, not an off the ball strike.

Harmes and Stretch are coming off a five day break. At least one will be held in reserve for Sunday, but possibly both.

Gardiner, Ferreira, Fritsch, Moncreiff & Dwyer were not listed in the Development team, Hillard, Collis & Foote were named. I think the team will look like this with 1 of Hillard, Collis or Foote to come in for our carry over player

This game was originally listed as the 1.00pm televised game but that's apparently been changed.

The televised game now is Port Melbourne v Richmond. There seems to be some confusion as to when the Geelong v Casey match up is supposed to start (listed above as 2.40pm).

Anyone know?

VFL Cats tweeting that the gates open at midday and game starts at 1.00pm.

Other sources mentioning 2.40pm start.

I hope the Casey players' bus turns up on time.

I won't be at the game due to work commitments but hope to keep people up to date with scores.

Thanks Jim.  Couldn't tell you the last time I went to a VFL game where I paid to get in!  I used to go to North Ballarat games and just jump the fence to get in!

Is the VFL in that much trouble that they have to suck up to Richmond supporters?

WJ the VFL tribunal are every bit as baffling as the AFL MRP. Have a look at the incident i posted in the Casey v North Ballarat thread. Tim Currie from Williamstown got 4 weeks for an incident where he marked the ball diving forwards with a half twist that happened to clip the bloke behind him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
