At the game, keeping a close eye on weed and must concur his output has been dreadful. MUST be dropped next week

Weideman copped a corkie, spent a lot of that quarter on the bike. Apparently roos is here with his wife watching on. Nice to see.  Hopefully a massive 2nd half.

That free against deep forward was rubbish - clearly HTH and no high tackle

Did they call that a high tackle?  I was wondering why it was given.  Possibly that idiotic clause they added where if a players head hits the ground it's considered high? It looked like a clear HTB to me.  He was tackled around the waist and spun more than 360 without even trying to offload the ball.

Viney had to kick that.

100 metre penalty for a gift that he misses on a dry clear day.

Sorry but unforgivable.

Radio confirming Weed has a bad corkie..

Weideman needs to spend the next 10 weeks at Casey and develop his craft there.

If we are fair dinkum about playing finals then Pedersen is a better option. Cannot continue to throw the kid to the wolves and expect to make an impact.

In front, but not a lot of joy in this. Sloppy.

Hard to know what's going on/wrong with Weideman, ball's been down there enough, 2 handballs? I'm all for development, but difficult to see what he's actually getting out of this or how it's helping him.

Going alright! Jeffy brilliant. Defence looks better with Frost in. Harmes working hard. Clarry six clearances. Freo midfield is very good with Fyfe, Mundy, Neale and the Hill brothers.

OK, if he's got a corky ... perhaps more understandable.

Just dont get all the Tyson critics.

Maybe it's all the turnovers. Last week 15 possies at 40% that is 6 effective possies.

Doing it again today. In the warmup he missed from 20 out straight in front. Says it all.

Started to clean things up a bit at the end of the 2nd quarter. Need to keep our heads and not replace them with turnips. If that happens, we win.

Watching from the couch. Dad chose a most inopportune time to have a few dizzy spells this morning and Home Doctor chose  a very inopportune time to call ie during the second quarter. Still all seems well.

First quarter was ordinary. Not a fan of set shots from outside 50 unless its a player with a high percentage of set shots nailed from that distance.

Must have improved in second quarter until Kent decided to square the ball from the forward flank and turned it over.

Agree.  Weid is still very young. Even at Casey he's not been a standout player yet.  Just a very good young and developing prospect.

I'd like to see him build his game, his fitness and his body at Casey for an extended period.

He just hasn't improved while the rest of the team has.

His weaknesses hold him back a lot.

What game are you watching.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
