Why are we rucking Watts and a cameo from Smith for the entirety in the centre!!!???? Around the ground i dont mind Watts 50 % but FCS at least give us a contest to neautralise the centre bounce.

WEIDS into the Ruck for the bounce and we win!!!!

They will bring it home, 3 or 4 go through straight and it's over, we are the better team

We only have ourselves to blame... Should be 4 or 5 goals up. Our bad kicking is made so much worse seeing they can't miss

Bit of class for the Cats coming to the fore at the end, but we're still in front and there is no reason why we can't win this.  We've worked our backsides off to this point, but don't lose sight of the fact that we have played some excellent footy (apart from our kicking for goal.)

I'm a sucker, but I'll back the boys in from here!

Get ready for the Oliver show in the last Q. He's been saving his energy for this

In all honesty, we missed 6-7 very gettable goals.

We should be 6 goals up.

Win please win

Outclassed them all day but for kicking

Settle everyone, the game isn't lost yet... we're actually in front.  Still plenty of footy to be played and if we go out there and play 30 minutes of hard, tough and manic footy, then we win the game.  Simple.

We're working really hard. Not having Gawn makes it very difficult. Their transition is probably best in the league.  We need to work harder stopping their run from defense going forward. I feel our mids are being badly outrun.

The way they kick goals..it's super shifty but that's why they're so good. Our backline has held up well considering...they just get smashed on the super fast transition. Guys like Hawkins feed on it bevause our defenders are playing over-cautious. We can win this but we need to dig super deep. If we play as we have all game and give our goals we will win. They can't win on the back of 3-4 bursts every 15 minutes. But if they get on top early, it might be tough.

Big test coming up.

Watts has been great in the middle. Really has.

I don't know how we can win this unless we start kicking those very easy goals.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
