Seems to be out of an underdone Pedersen and Frost or an in form Spencer.

I seem to recall Hogan out and Spencer in last time we pantsed Geelong.So it may be the right formula,though we must take into account Geelong are struggling for tall forwards and are throwing Harry T around as an option.

Kent coming in doesn't seem likely yet judging from Caseys game.

Tim Smith is not exactly killing it yet either .

Just to upset you all some more.

Crows Tom Lynch broke Birchall's jaw with a forearm, which Dermie called deliberate this afternoon on SEN.

Guess what, no penalty.

Preust in a cowardly act, jumped into a Geelong player's back with his knee after the mark was taken. Could have crippled him. Most media thought 2-3 weeks.

Guess what no penalty.

The one referred to by many on here, the Scott Thomson elbow to Danger's jaw, which most media thought was 2-3.

Guess what, penalty one week. 

Me personally, I could live with accepting the penalties, as long as the club stood up for the players and supporters, incurred the fine and blasted the MRP, highlighting the above.

I'm surprised with the Hogan penalty.

I thought it would fall under careless instead of intentional.  Careless in that he was pushing him off without really looking at him and not intentionally hitting him in the head.  I also thought it would be low impact instead of medium.  

Some of the hits deemed low impact last year make this decision a bit bewildering to me.

But, it is what it is.

Players will be angry about this. Reliance on certain individuals will increase, resulting in them working and training harder. It's just this huge game against Geelong. Their penalties are probably unfair but they were always going to atleast miss a week. Hoges and Jordy get a few weeks to rest their bodies. I'd be fairly confident about beating freo without them, and Richmond to a lesser extent

I find it odd that because Cripps and Carlton say the Lewis "hit" is what fractured his jaw, we have to take it as such. 

Take it to the tribunal and call Cripps as the victim. Ask him if he can say 100% for certain that that was the strike that caused the fracture. Ask him if he felt the pain at the time, if he did why didn't he go off or tell anyone or grab at it. If he didn't feel the pain then and there, can we assume that it's a possibility it was fractured during another contact? 

Or just cop the penalty, whatever.

Not worried. We have depth now and I expect that there will be more than just the two compulsory changes. The AFL season is long and hard. Jordan Lewis will come back nice and refreshed in Round 6 and Jesse will be champing at the bit when he returns in Round 5.

Have a look at the vision and Cripps gets up and never touches his face and isn't told to go off by the Blues medical guys.

That is hardly what you would expect for someone who has allegedly suffered a fractured jaw.

I've had a hairline fracture of the jaw. I didn't even know I had it for about 3 days.

There was no treatment required. It heals itself. A mashed finger (when the ball lands right on the end) is a worse injury.

Didn't stop me doing anything ... eating, rooting, shooting ... nothing.

As severe injuries go, it's right down there. I hope that didn't factor in to the MRP's coin tosses considered deliberation.

To me it looked possible from the vision that Hogan punched at the chest and it slipped up. It may be worth fighting to get it down from intentional. 

Not sure about medium impact also. Did he go off for a concussion test?

same goes with the Lewis footage. Did he open palm the shoulder and slip up? From what I can see it looks like an open palm rather than a closed fist.

How annoying is it that clubs like Hawthorn and Geelong have been doing this stuff for 10 years and the AFL shift focus to it and make an example of us.

Everyone knows the MRP is a lottery. Yep the only consistent aspect of the MRP is its inconsistency. 

That said Jordan Lewis' actions were just bloody stupid and I don't have much sympathy for him. It is Round 2 and his loading for his bad record which made him serve an extra week would have expired after Round 5. Its time for Jordan to realise footy has changed and he has to change. The MFC has invested significant dollars and years in him and he should understand that to repay that he needs to be on the field. 

Hogan was a bit unlucky but again if you make contact to the head your numbers might come up at the MRP. Don't give them the opportunity. End of story.

SEN saying the medical report on Rowe says delayed concussion, thus the medium impact ruling! Both Carlton guys must have a glass jaws.

That's what having a hard edge is all about. Turning the momentum of the game. Sometimes sacrifices are made. Could have been done better but we were on the way to another serious embarrassment before that happened.

Reported on 3AW tonight that Carlton submitted a report to the AFL re Rowe's postmatch headaches.

Carlton dogged on us.
