Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

MRP for Hogan and Lewis

Off vision I have seen to date (not best quality) Hogan looks like he threw a perfect jab, that would earn him a point in the ring, and a week in the naughty corner. However I think Lewis and Vince are playing to instructions, and the suggestion of internal club fines is ludicrous, the team is searching for an edge, I think Goodwin is willing to risk the sanctions. However Hogans' snap though was not niggle or unsociable - not his role, he already strikes me as pretty bloody 'anti-social' .

It wasn't a perfect jab. It was a closed fist but he hit with his palm side, fingers facing up. You can pause it and see that clearly.

To cop a week they'll need to say it was worth 2 Was it? No way in my eyes. Should be a fine. Gut feel is they'll say 2 down to one because we get no luck with those inconsistent idiots.

Lewis I can't really tell how hard he hit him, I'd be saying Cripps took a dive and then Viney ran him over which is why he stayed down like he was playing for Man United.

Hey DA, managed to check it out again, maybe not Sugar Ray but pretty decent all the same, I thought the speed was good didn't you? I think the same re sanction.

I don't  know  who  will  get  what,  but  I  do  know  the  Lewis  one  was  STUPID.  As  a  result  of  a  contest  to  see  who  can  [censored]  up  a  wall  higher, and  the  wrestling  continued,  the  umpire  threw  up  the  ball  in the  center  of  the  ground,  and  we  only  had  THREE  to  contest  the  ball  up.  And  guess  who  did  the  ruck  work?  Yes  our  premier  ruckman  number  13,  Oliver.

How  professional  was  that?  STUPID.  By  the  way  they  easiely  won  the  center  clearance.

But it is so counterproductive if you are sitting in the stand following week(s). Does anyone actually believe that off the ball stuff had a positive effect for us? Attack the ball hard, attack them hard when they have the ball but leave the cheap shots out of it

The only thing unsociable about it is you don't get to run around with your mates the next Saturday

"5. Jordan Lewis was the poster boy for the 'unsociable Hawks' during that club's dominant era. But now it is Melbourne's turn to face that anxious wait for the Match Review Panel to do its thing every Monday morning. Lewis should just be OK for the clash with Carlton's Patrick Cripps, as should Jesse Hogan for his incident with Sam Rowe. If not, then a terrific twilight game next Saturday against Geelong will be that bit tougher for the Demons, who are 2-0 for the first time since 2005, to negotiate."

There is a lot of delusion on here.

Hogan was was round left jab. In slow mo the Carlton players jaw goes sideways.

He was dropped and dazed.

4 weeks with good record down to 3 IMO

The last time we were unsociable was during the Northey years. For long periods after it was an aberration for one of our players to get reported.

 I'm sure it was April fools day yesterday. If he gets done for more than 2 I'll be shocked. My gut feel is 1 week down to a reprimand. I don't think he even needed a concussion test.

If he gets 1 week then so be it.

Not attacking u guys personally

There wasnt much in both incidents.

Apparently we have depth so it's a good opportunity to test it.

At least find out the results before you guys sook it up.

I'll take unsociable over the p weak crap dealt up in the past any day.

Didn't we beat the cats without hogan and lewis in 2015?

I'd say Hogan gets 2 down to 1. It was intentional, high contact, minimal force. Exactly the same as Vince.

The only thing working in his favour is no track record.

Lewis is hard to tell, could be 1 or just a fine. Cripps only fell over when Viney bumped him.

Bernie Vince on the Sunday rub said that the only reason he got the 1 week was because Wright he went off for a concussion test. Vince said that even though he passed the test he he still had no argument whatsoever.

If thats the case both players didn't go off after the incident for any tests. Lewis i think will get a fine and Hogan well who knows.

Just heard on SEN that the general consensus was that Lewis would get 2-3 weeks and Hogan 1 week. Hope they are wrong.

Surprised they would say that about Lewis.  I know he has a dodgy past, but it clearly looks as though he gets him in the shoulder.  Cripps doesn't even look like going down until Viney shoves him in the back.

Hogan should be a reprimand. His opponent went for him shortly beforehand and Hogan responded in kind.

There was not much in it.

It looked to me like a round arm slap and the Blue made the most of it, but then I have not studied the footage in slow motion. If the Blue's jaw went sideways like some here are describing he must have roller bearings rather than the conventional ligaments that operate the mandible.

Rowe should get a week for acting

And, to think, Carlton once accused us of playing 'bruise-free football'. The irony.

Rowe went down like a show pony striker playing for Uruguay against the Socceroos in a World Cup Qualifier.

Spot on.

The force that would Cripps down was Viney and this is why i think he will get off. Cripps stayed on the field and continued on. If it was such force to the head he would have done a concussion test which was proven to have gottwn Vince the 1 week.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
