Are you serious, I have tickets to the game in the away members area level 1 and you reckon it's going to take an hour to get through the gate? I've printed off my tickets, so is that still an hour?

HF

I just scan in to Docklands games with my AFL membership and Ive never had to queue. If you've reserved tickets and have already printed them off there shouldn't be any reason you have to queue but someone else might relay a different experience

Melbourne supporters who complain about going to Docklands when we are the away side are the worst. It's literally a few ks from the G and in the CBD. It's not like going out to Waverley in the middle of nowhere in the old days or suburban grounds unfit for humans like Moorabbin or Vic Park

I booked 3 tickets in the MFC supporter area at $50 each as soon as ticket sales opened.....I hate Etihad with a passion but I love my team more ......I expect we will win but there will be no "carry on" if we don't as I am extremely confident that over the whole season we will be the better team!!

Post of the year, decade, century. The stadium is on the fringe of the CBD, literally a 5 minute walk from Melbourne's second biggest train station for Pete's sake!

I was embarrassed and ashamed of our club when not even 9,000 supporters bothered to show up for the Melbourne V GWS game at Etihad in 2015.

How can one blame Melbourne supporters for disparaging Etihad given the grief we always suffer there?

I feel like parking and trains are the only thing ok about Etihad... there are about 6 different parking structures walking distance from the ground and southern cross is setup better than the stations near G. The rest your spot on. I feel souless is the best description. You just dont get that same feeling as you do walking into the MCG

That said come hell or highwater I'm going on Saturday! And every other game we play at Etihad.

It's not the k's that bother me i enjoy going to interstate games.

I don't have 1 good memory from the ground. I was stuck outside in a line the day Juice Newton took a screamer in the first quater.

Whelan showed great sportsmanship the day he broke Nathan Brown's leg but that wasn't a great memory.

The place has no sole.

The problems are that a lot of the time Buses replace trains half way through your journey thus setting up delay after delay!! Im over Cetury old train networks and flimsy public transport networks. Carparking can cost $20.00 if you can find a park plus driving through the city traffic as I said stick to Foxtel !!

The other problem with Etihad is that they gave all the prime seats to the Medallion club who more often than not do not turn up for Melbourne games.

Viewing from ground level is not optimal and the higher level above the Medallion club area is less than perfect.

Perhaps I am too used to the MCG where as an AFL member I can sit on level 3 in the winter sunshine and have a whole section of the stand to myself (Ah the joys of being an anti social MFC supporter.. or is it an easier way to deal with defeat.... I was different in the '80's and '90's and enjoyed the arrogance of the crowd.... Oh what is must be to be a Hawthorn supporter) ... but I digress

There is a Melbourne (called Away) supporters area on the wing Level 1 Aisle 6 which had a few seats left this morning.

Looks like it's all sold out now

Dammit I loath that stadium. Was there last night for Adele. Thanks to the poor design it took 1 hour to walk from gate 7 to the train station. Total joke.

In their defence the bridge to the station is not built to handle the 77,300 people that were at that show thats like 25,000 over the normal stadium capacity.

I bought reserved seats on level 1 for $20 a pop, which is $5 cheaper than GA, via the link the club sent out a week or so ago (the email with a picture of Bernie). Great deal.

thanks mate. I chose the $15 ones! as I usually stand anyway it works for me

Bargain!

Absolute bargain the $15 level 1 reserved tickets... Bit skeptical about level 1, I almost always sit top level regardless of the stadium, find you can see the play unfold better... But for $15 & no stress having to rock up early to GA for a decent seat, can't say no.

I agree. I usually sit top stand directly behind goals (at the g as well) but have sat on level 1 at ethiad and have to say the viewing is terrific, much better than rhe equivalent spot at the g. You feel very close to the action.

I cannot adc the place is a hell hole for MFC supporters and then you have the problems of getting a seat in a reasonable spot and then you have to physically get in the gates.

I am not sure why you are embarrassed and ashamed BBP it is the members voting with their feet.

Democracy at work.

Back in the day, Waverley was a great place to watch a game of football. Now you go to sh!tholes like Etihad and football seems to be the last thing they care about. The sooner they build a car park over that dump, the better.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
