I like the fact that it's red and blue, with white being assigned just to the number on the back.

Can we use it during away games during the season?

Better than the white strip, but would like to see the tomato red revert back to the dark red.

Is this the jumper being used during the season? Did I read correctly somewhere that we're wearing it round 1?

Club has confirmed round one and against "some teams".

Of course I like it, it's pretty much just our normal jumper. However with all the wind coming from the AFL regarding clash jumpers in the past, I'm surprised the AFL approved it. Just goes to show how arbitrary and ultimately pointless their policy has been on this I think.

Nasher that AFL policy was hollow at best and farce in reality.

We only need 2 jumpers. Our real one and its new sibling.

Red and Blue

Red and Blue

Not hard is it !!

Now we have ir lets just conveniently forget to ever take any others to games ;)

Go Dees ( that red and blue team ) :)

I love it. Barely any different from our regular strip. A bit like the arrogant approach of Essendon and Collingwood to the clash strips over the years - but I like that we're doing the same thing now. Enough's enough. We'll maintain our proper heritage for the most part and tick a few AFL policy boxes in the process.

The thing I don't understand though is how this ticks AFL policy boxes when we were told year after year that red was a no-go and the jumpers had to be white.  I'm not complaining, of course, but it just makes no sense.

Yeah, I know. I thought the same thing. I'd suggest perhaps we've argued on similar lines to Essendon and Collingwood.

There are certain teams that we get told to wear the white strip because of a so called clash on TV. This should eliminate it for many of those teams.

About bloody time, well done to the club.

Id missed the news this was an alternative clash strip, so was concerned this had actually become our new home strip, same as the girls. Delighted if it's the "new white" clash strip

has the added benefit for the kids in that there's an acre of room for players signatures on the back...

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
