Wow what a joke - shirt front someone high no free, brush your forearm against their cheek blow the whistle!

Agree, should get booked for charging. He chose to go past the ball and take a player out. If it was Whorethorn it would've been a report and 50.

The umpires are ruining it for us.

I think being a young side we will tire out in the last quarter.

Just hope they keep the effort and intensity up.

Someone needs to put a clip together (im too retarded to do it) showing how the hawks can throw, drop the ball etc and then 1 min later get it paid against usm disgraceful inconsistency has kept the hawks close.

Some bull shite freed have gone against us but you get them when you have won 3 flags in a row, the intensity and pressure is amazing, Petracca is going to be an absolute super star in a couple of years. Bring on the second half!

I think the 6 day break will come back and hurt us in the 4th, but we've done well so far against this [censored] up umpiring.

I really wanted our kids to get this scalp today, they desperately needed it. Unfortunately it's headed towards another Hawks vs Bulldogs/St Kilda style robbery from the umpires in the last quarter.

How's the elbow to the side of Harmes' head after he kicked it in from a behind? Total gutless ship from the Hawks but they're allowed to get away with it. It's not intensity, it's just dirty, spineless cheap shots.

We tired in the last 5 minutes, but gee we've played some bloody exciting football so far.  We are taking it right up to them and showing what a bright future we truly have.

Let's hope we can keep it up in the second half now!

the Hawks jogged off and we walked.

we'll need to make the most of every forward entry.

geez I hope we beat them by under a goal and someone smashes Ceglar big time

What about the non-50 to Brayshaw well after the umpires blew his whistle? We turned it over and cost us a goal instead of having a shot from 20-30 out. Definitely would've been paid the other way

He had 6 clearances that term.  Sensational stuff.  Love how quick he is with the ball in terms of making a decision.

Notice he's kicking it more - time spent at Casey isn't wasted.

If we lose this, it'll be through turnovers. Need to tighten up our disposal. A lot.

Still, loving the endeavour.

Can someone watching on TV please tell me why Rioli got the free kick after the Oliver bump?

Someone, hunt I think, made contact over the shoulder. Soft free.

Nathan Jones definitely needs to approach the umpires at half time. This is farcical and I'm sick of Hawthorn getting away with this [censored].

It's like there is such an aura around their players that they think they're immune to making mistakes, so the umpires never pay anything against them. Cyril's throw could not have been more obvious, and that's just one example.

Yes, Nate should speak to umps. Our boys don't seem to ever do, or if they do it's a free or 50m penalty to opposition.

see Mitchell and others remonstrate and not be penalised

This too. Infuriating, especially given they paid a stupid cheap one against Viney when he was just running to man the mark.

Hope we bring the intensity and take this game out. Sick of losing to those dirty cheating snipers Mitchell, Lewis and Hidge. They're all appalling people and deserve none of the success they've achieved. Take them out Dees!

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
