Sorry, don't like him. And at the age of (I think) 38 he should have a real job and not be playing boys games for a living.

Not just 427, but 427 and still playing top notch football. Even if he isn't the type of guy I could see myself getting along with, as a footballer he is everything and more. Very well prepared, well conditioned, and puts in 110%. Good luck Boomer.

I feel for 4 2 6 whos record is being broken.

Also have to say 244 consecutive games is a better achievement.

A "real" job where he would most likely be earning significantly less than he does now?

I would think there are countless threads where people can criticise Harvey; but credit where credit is due. Breaking a seemingly unbreakable record and still playing some very good footy.

Congrats Boomer.

Tuck deserved his spot, this squib is now taking it. Doesn't sit well with me.

Glad im not the only one who thinks Tucky is above him. Tucky played how many Ressies games, played in a thuggish era where if you were any good you were belted mercilessly and in and era where there was very little use of the bench.

Harvey kudos to him has played for a long time. How many games as sub or subbed out?

geeez I've become a grumpy man :)

Wow, seriously? The guy has played the most games in VFL/AFL history, a North Melbourne champion... I open this thread expecting to read congratulatory posts, but instead read disrespectful, horribly ugly digs at him.

That's why I love this place.

Get [censored] Harvey.

Interesting, that despite milestones and recognition, universal recognition and acclaim requires something more. A quality that is not represented by records. Robbie Flower you are a true football god, representing the goodness of sport and humanity.

None of the 400 club had any success at coaching (only KB coached senior level) so we can look forward to Harvey drifting off into obscurity when he retires.

He is playing a sport he almost certainly loves and getting paid very handsomely for it, I'm not sure what you are getting at.

Not much Love in the room for someone who has given 22 years of his life, body and  soul to the game.

Some of the comments on here about Harvey are the most disparaging ,insulting and ungracious stuff I have read about a player on Demonland .

Congratulations to those posters.

My heart is warmed that although he has broken many records for longevity, he has engendered almost universal disdain.

It's a rare, short ,ugly boring little big nosed [censored] that can do that.

The only person who loves this snot-nosed rodent more than his wife would be himself.

This selfish twit has ruined the development of so many draftees by taking up a spot on the Roos' list. Miserable years are certainly ahead for North, so it's a downright tragedy that Harvey already secured his premiership; would've been heartwarming to see him play over 400 games and never achieve success.

Oh well.

It's excellent to read such disdain and loathing for this small creature...

No it is actually pathetic, and most on here call themselves football supporters, a great player who is still showing guys half his age how to play footy at a consistently high level

This thread's delightful vitriol was just helping me over my Shiraz induced hangover when along comes Saty with his Mother Superior moralising.

FMD! Made me crook again.

It shows the mentality of a lot of posters on here BBO, it disgusts me that some are actually serious, it is no wonder they hide behind their keyboards, he is a footy player, a decent bloke and a devoted family man, the latter two in short supply these days, if it makes some posters feel good when typing one handed then so be it

Hope you wished him well.

Or has he blocked your messages?

FMD Saty. This is Boomer we are discussing.

If you can't tear down a mini giant of the game then I may as well take up following Polo.

Where did you this "decent bloke" rumour from?

Why the need to 'tear down', in a jocular way maybe, but you need to look at the mentality of posters who are serious in their 'hatred' of a footy player.

Thought he was decent when I had a chat to him a couple of years ago at a function

I do find it a bit odd, that Craig Bradley had 375 games for Carlton and 98 in the SANFL, yet he is not considered the all-time Games record holder.

That's coz Craig Bradley was a squib as well.

Back to main point, all friggen week every day in the press his head has been on it.

I find it astounding he will never be and should never be mentioned in the same breathe as the true greats of the game! NEVER!

Be on your way Satyr...
