He's in for the Darwin Game. Great news: I've always rated him and he seems like an obvious addition of class and run to what has been quite a sieve like-defence.

I'm really surprised that it took this long. What's his contract status anyone?

Is this one of those "let 'im play to see if we bother keeping him" moments?. Or has he won his spot based on form alone?

His form has been really good, consistently our best defender and has something we lack coming out of defence...he's a good kick.

Nice to hear, and thanks for the reply.

I was impressed when I saw him play last year. Not a soft koch, and delivers well.

i thought his game against GWS was good and I've been surprised that he hasn't been selected earlier.  Looks a real goer and one effort where he kept the ball in running down against the boundary showed a bit of class.

Wonder what it was about him that kept him out this long? Hope he lights it up, as we could certainly use another hard at it, but skillful half back.

I think its about that finals are out the window, so the door's opening for young players, to strut their stuff.

He is earning & learning.

But no doubt playing our kids will show the footy dept exactly where they are up to, & what we need to buy in.

Also getting someone who can kick into the backline

Too subtle for most I suspect CB, but I got it.

The word pairs complement/compliment and complementary/complimentary are pronounced identically, hence the confusion in spelling. Just remember that complement with an E means "to complete" or "to enhance," while compliment with an I means "to praise" and complimentary means "free."

I liked what I saw last year and I'm happy to see him get another chance off the back of solid VFL form.

The Dogs have shown how important it is to a fast, running gameplan to have strong depth at half-back. We've found Hunt and Wagner, we already have Salem and Lumumba (query his long-term position on the list, though), last week we rotated Harmes through there too. Vince has spent portions of this year across half-back and could find himself more there instead of in the middle as he gets older. M Jones has played half-back this year, and we have Melksham to add too next year.

It's an important part of our development, IMO.

He's been kept out because he's a Rookie and we couldn't elevate him until halfway through the season unless someone else went on to the LTI list.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him play most of the remaining games now that we can use him.  As has been said above, he's been consistently named in the best at Casey for most of the season and is generally listed as the best of the backs.

Good luck to him and hope he has a stellar intro. Haven't seen that many Casey matches must have good form.

Personallly I didn't rate him any higher than our other key defenders in Dunn, Garland, Grimes against the Tiges though and thought Grimes & Keilty were the best defenders (yeh I know he isn't listed ?)

Not sure why we are selecting 2 defenders and dropping a Mid/Forward. strange.

Thought White was our best defender and set up some goals with good use of the ball coming through the middle. He's not afraid to attack the ball and kill it in the air either...

Grimes has been playing as a mid at Casey so that might part answer your question.

i would hate this usage of 'compliment' to disappear entirely from demonland.

I dunno about anyone else, but I'm getting pretty sick of this 'sieve-like defence' rubbish from every second poster, every second day. It's a fallacy. Our percentage is over 100%. It's not sieve-like. We leak some easy goals, but so do all teams in 2016 football. That is the nature of the new game style. It's such a near-sighted and frankly incorrect viewpoint.

Besides, our defence struggles when our midfield does. That's the important correlation and it's why I've been banging on about continuing to strengthen our midfield, rather than focusing on the backline. Though, that's not to say we should focus on one thing at a time. It is prudent to multi-task if possible.

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
