Braysure is making the most sense in this thread.  Hibbert won't be coming to us for nothing, there'll be a trade.

Two year ban of Essendon or all players forced to other clubs is the fantasyland.

Yea that's right its a drug filled comp anyway. Its probably our fault when you think about it, isn't it!!!

Seems like it well could be...but its what its going to take to get over the line that is the big issue. Got any mail on that?

Sorry no didn't get numbers, i queried it because my uneducated opinion was that Hurley was more desirable but apparently the club rates Hibberds disposal as a key for needs and being a left foot was important

I hope your mail is good.

Though from a semantic perspective even though often a distinction seems to be made between rumour and fact of course there's not necessarily a difference between the two. For example the rumour the Hibberd deal is happening might be accurate, so is in essence a fact.

You're correct, Rumour does allow for the story to be true, but without CTRL X+V various sources i'm going for the general interpretation that rumour is generally heresay, allthough in a strict legal sense so is fact repeated 3rd hand.

I might be old, dead or forgotten but I have standards. Bull fighting has history, culture, skill, artistry and a narrative that would be lost on these guys. Running the bulls is for thrill seekers, drunks and dope heads. Like many things, this event has been spoiled by modern tourism and idiots that have the money to travel but have no appreciation for anything other than booze and living the moment. Their presence and participation is meaningless.

Yep as i have posted recently i agree. good, accurate kicks who don't miss easy crosses and can hit hight attacking positions such as in the corridor have never been more important. Look at the Swans Hawks game. Swans lost because at critical times they missed targets that when turned over the Hawks punished 9often witheir left footers).

After Today Hibberd would be a walk up start should we land him for 2017 Melksham too

...before today Hibberd was a walk up start.

Today just proved why we need a player of his calibre.

i still think we need more quality in there than another back flanker.

We don't have to have one or the other...

Add O'Meara or Crouch to the mix.

Hibberd allows Salem, Vince and even Nate Jones this year not to play half back which makes the midfield better.

Next year Oliver, Brayshaw and Petracca will all play more minutes through there as Milkshake and hopefully Hibberd will shore up the half back line.

Agreed. We need more talent in the midfield. Particularly, in that 22-25 age bracket.

We need to add some class in this age bracket...we've got some good kids coming through but A grade class is an issue.

Looking at some of the clips of O'Meara's comeback game last week just underlined how good he is and what we are missing, so much poise, an absolute gun.

Yes, he has some injury issues but so did Burgoyne.

Midfield were ordinary, but the quality user off half back, who can take the risky kick to open up play is critical.. We were smashed by St Kilda because we were not allowed to switch the ball and didn't have anyone confident enough to take the risky kick in the middle, so we basically played boundary line football.

Melksham isn't a defender is he??

you would know........

Not really. I have watched a bit of Essendon over the years, but no more than any other team. I just watch footy on the weekends. I always thought he was kind of a winger/hff. Hence why I questioned whether he would come into our side as a half back.

The talk at exchange time was that we recruited him off the back of his "promising" games across half back for the cheats, in his final few games.

I'm convinced that you would know that already.

The price for Hurley would be hard to meet. Dogs still have their first rounder for this season, don't they? I'm not sure we'd be able to get him here unless the deal involved a very good quality player leaving the MFC.

IF we could convince Hurley to come to the Demons then you would get it done however you have to. The club could try and swing another deal with GWS/Swans/GC for an early pick or put our 2017 1st rounder on the table.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
