How the FK does Colin Garland keep his spot..

Unbelievable..

Roos has been quoted as saying ANB, OMac and Kent will all play. That might mean Harmes or Hunt slide out of the squad.

I echo the above sentiment re. Garland. Lynden Dunn must be getting pretty frustrated.

Can either of you or someone else who is screaming for his head on a stake explain to me what he has done wrong in the last 2 weeks? aside from that 1 really bad handball?  I'm not saying he is going to be in our defence in the future but Dunn sure as hell wont be either. We play garland because we have nobody else

Garlo for Dunn isn't the answer.  Col got dropped earlier in the year, Dunn came in and did nothing, then got dropped himself.  No reason to think the same won't happen again.  It's just deck chairs being swapped.

Geez thats gotta be the worst Brisbane side since they were called the Bears.... Might have to rethink my prediction of an 8 goal win.

Yeah, we got this.

Watch McStay and Taylor kick 5 each now.

Taylor's barely had 5 kicks for the year, can't get out of the place quick enough. Not a happy camp up in Brisbane.

I'm still confused. Why?

What is going on up there? I honestly have no idea.

we are either going to have an off week and get belted or we're going to come to play and win this game by 80 plus. Hogan to kick another 6-7

You could call it that, or you could call it building culture by dropping out of form players for those performing at Casey.

With Max fully recovered from his knee  I expect the Demon Dynamic Diamond to be shelved for the week as not needed.

Not really sure why the Lions are coming, the weather's better up there atm  ^_^

I generally like what you write Peter, but I have to disagree with this prediction.  If we have an off week, we will still win by 30.

I don't have the energy to argue the point on Garlo, Stu.  I really don't.  I don't see him as bad as others do, and I don't see that he's been awful the last few games either that warrants him being dropped.  I see a few jumping on the bandwagon and calling for his head.  There have been others that are under performing that should go before him - Salem being one and it sets that example.

If others want him dropped, then that's fine.  I don't totally see it that way but I'm not going to fill up this thread arguing the point as it will get me nowhere.

To me it's not as black and white as that, being "he is terrible" etc, it's just that we have similar position players whose VFL form indicates they would contribute more than him at AFL level.

Seen some bad habits creeping back into selection this year. Underperforming players staying in when guys are smashing it at Casey is one of them.

Lions were bad last week but in general they've been okay, they pushed the swans very hard only a couple of weeks ago, though i do think the injuries are going to make it very hard.

An emphatic no from me!  We will do exactly what we should do to an inferior opposition.

U mean like we did against Essendon and the saints ?

That doesn't imply he is missing with concussion. It's saying he missed round 7 with concussion.

He's been dropped.

Not sure what you're saying. In round 7 he was concussed. For this, the second match that he's missed, he has been omitted.

Regardless. I suspect we'll soon find out this is the case. Interesting to see if he lines up for Casey.

I think only the Kiss of Death is picking the Lions this week !!

I'm not unhappy with Salo's omission.  He's probably disappointed so far this season, and we need to honour the commitment to reward players who perform consistently well at Casey.  Strong message for Salo (and his team-mates as well) but he'll be back, and undoubtedly be a better player for the experience.  This is the new Melbourne, and I'm thrilled that we've reached this position in our evolution.

I do and don't get it. His form before concussion was nothing to write home about. He then misses and comes straight back into the side but into a role he has not played all year. That's not exactly setting him up for success.

Great that ANB will play but a fair bit that makes me uneasy as to what the final 22 may look like.

If Salem lines up for Casey he has been dropped.  If not he is omitted for concussion.  We will find out soon enough which it is.

I'm guessing here (which, lets be honest, constitutes 99.7% of all Demonland posts) but I'd imagine that defensively if you don't follow the structure you'll be left out. Salem, who I imagine is everything Roos would like off Half Back in terms of skill, is left out yet Garland and Michie stay in. I think it's true for Dunn too. I have a suspicion he got dropped for playing too 'individually' within the zone.

I think decisions are being made about structures and game style first, so that we develop a team plan that works - and players that can fit within that.

I can't come up with another reason why Salem misses.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
