A suggestion to the webmaster when next considering an upgrade

is there any way that we could get the thread title IN BIG BOLD PRINT at the top of the box in which we type replies?

This thread is headed  Sam Weideman and Liam Hulett  but we have seen much of the last page discussing just about anything but.

For what it's worth I heard a rumour that the club went to Sam a few weeks ago to ask if he felt he was ready for an AFL game, it seems they were looking to bring him in. He told them that he didn't feel ready and wanted to continue his development in the VFL.

If true, says a lot about his honesty, you could imagine many players saying they were ready just to get a game.

i like bold print.

I think I may need glasses soon.

However Monocc,

Some people may think of this as modern yelling.

Those storms in Sydney were something else.

Glad I dont live in a big house by the Sydney Harbour-what losers.

What were we on about before?

Interesting but hard to believe anyone would turn down the chance to make their debut if the coach thinks he is ready. Go for it Weeds!

Forget about the physical similarities, Weideman thinks and plays like a key forward and that's not Watts' go.

Weideman attacks marking contests with belief and fearlessness and that has never been Watts' strong suit.

Agree. The bit i have seen of the weed he just looks like a pure full forward. Natural leading patterns  and terrific attack on the ball in the air. Not in build but he reminds me a bit of jason dunstall.

Love that he's learning his craft at Casey. Once in seniors a triangle of watts, hogan and weed (out of tge square) will be a formidable forward line, particularly with Petracca as a wild card. Cant wait.

Come on Biff.  Get it right.  Talking in CAPS is yelling.  Talking in bold is talking with a glare.  And talking in colours is just being dee-luded.

And Mono, nice point.  FWIW, Weed and Huey are not yet ready yet.

The Weed won't play this season, they're doing what they did with Hogan as 17 year old and giving him a season in the VFL to develop his game and get his body right which is great. This would explain the reason they traded there 2016 first round pick to get a player ready for the 2017 season which is when we will be makeing the move into the top 8.

Good way to look at the traded pick, give up a first rounder for the opportunity to develop a first rounder for 12 months. Stll would like to see him get a taste late in the year, but I guess we will see.

I guess it depends on we're we are at by the end of the season. If we are in the race for the 8th spot he won't play, if we slide he will play.

Oscar was given the final two games last year and his Brother a few years earlier under a different regime.

It wouldn't surprise me if he's given a taste at season's end to whet his appetite over summer.

Without meaning to sound too negative... I would be completely astounded if we are in that race come the last 4/5 weeks if we a still "mathematically" there then great but i think Adelaide is going to put a 2-4 game gap on the 9th-11th teams over the next month and a half. I hope to finish 9th, will be a fantastic result for the club but we would have to improve alot on the first half of the year and adelaide would have to fall on their own sword just to give us a slim finals chance.

I am just interested in why he hasn't been named for Casey this week? Surely to see him kick a bag against Collingwood would be better for his development than 'resting' him the following week!

Weiderman reminds me so much of Tom Lynch from the Suns in how he attacks the ball, i really think he, Hogan, Watts, Petracca, Garlett and co will become a nightmare for opposition teams

I'm picturing these fantastic forward options as Col streams out from the backline with his customary dash and pinpoint accuracy.

And didn't they have a bye one one or two weeks ago?

We play Adelaide at the G in a couple of weeks. If we beat the maggots, lose to Sydney, then beat Adelaide, we remain in the hunt.

Totally agree with this. They most likely will bring him in to play in the last couple of games when finals hopes are completely in doubt.

I would hope he comes in and helps in our quest for finals.

I have no faith in the incumbent.

Weed and Hulett highly unlikely to play senior footy this year.Reminds me of Harmes and Hunt in that they have taken time to develop. No purpose playing Weed in swamp like conditions v Collingwood reserves 11/6/2016 match.

Hip flexor injury CBD. Will be back after the bye. I'm assuming they meant the first one so that would mean the Rnd 13 Richmind game or at worst the Rnd 15 match against Bulldogs

How many byes do they have in the VFL? Time to just have a proper reserves comp it stifles development and team selection.

I'd be happy enough to keep a relationship with scorps but just for development league level. Really need a proper in-house Magoos

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
