Most of the recent comments I've read on players leaving clubs Hogan isn't even mentioned.

Probably because he's contracted for another season after this one.

If he hasn't signed by this time next season, I'd except the media and DL will be going nuts.

Yes it has been an abusive, painful relationship and full of broken promises for over five decades.

I sometimes wonder if all the fuss over him leaving would've been halved if that photo of him in the Fremantle scarf had never gone public.

Every kid on our list besides Grimes, Stretch, Viney and Harmes barracked for someone else before they came here.

Brayshaw's dad is on the board of North and his uncle is the president. Not a word has been said about him joining North.

Prestia's connection with us is well known. But if the Tiges are offering $700k and a first round draft pick and we only value him at $500k and a second rounder + young fringe best-22 player there's every chance he end up there instead.

One could have said the same of Jeremy Howe and the Suns. They offered more him cash than Collingwood. They had way more to trade with than Collingwood. In the end, Howe just wanted to play at Collingwood so we had no choice but to deal with the Pies.

I agree, and it's much ado about nothing. He didn't even support Freo as a kid, he was a Crows supporter as I recall.

But one innocent photo sure has caused a lot of noise and high hopes coming out of the Docker camp. You have to wonder why West Coast are almost never mentioned in the discussion about him going home. They are also based in Perth last time I checked.

Actually funny enough Brayshaw was a Freo supporter.

Half of Demonland are acting like a woman scorned.

"No way will he stick around, he's just another [censored], he'll leave me for a younger hotter version as soon as he can. He never even loved me, he was just using me for sex"

This is a rarity in my opinion . The whole  "he barracked for them as a kid" deal is just irrelevant.

If Hogan leaves to play for Freo, it will be because he wants to go home to Perth.

But there is no greater wrath than a woman scorned. (I know  - the ex Mrs Nutbean wrathed me to within an inch of my life)

It would certainly explain how the story is consistently that he is going to Freo and not west Coast.

He doesn't post much on social media, probably learnt a pretty harsh lesson from that one.

Just used for sex? That sounds alright. How do you arrange that? I'm prepared to give it a go (for science).

I see Fyfe as a player who plays in 4 flags for MFC before going on to coach us to another 4. Then joins the board of Collingwood as a double agent and destroys them from within. Then becomes an AFL commissioner and kicks all other clubs off the MCG and rigs the draw so we never have to travel, even to Etihad.

Now THAT'S a post.

Not much in it about Hogan really. Good to hear that Deano and hopefully the others, seem to know the importance of beating teams like Fremantle. Also great that it sounds as though he's keen to sign!

More just the entertainment of how they wrote the article. They're selling the dream over there.

Some of this speculation is a bit much.

wait until the off season, then we can all go nuts waiting for an extension on his deal. If he isn't signed by round 1 it is very likely he is gone, we can all melt then

While we might not agree with what he says it dont mean it isn't wrong or that far from the truth.

Anyway I'm not suggesting King is the be all end all but its nice to have our club talked about in a positive light and as a destination club.

That is big IMO...

Dont get me wrong unleash I agree we r no longer a basket case but my comment was more around it doesn't take a rocket scientist ala David King to figure that out and tell us what we already know.

Fair points

I just think it's nice to have it confirmed in general footy circles rather then an online forum. Lets be honest no FA is listening to a footy forum

Yeah, my old man lives in WA and he reckons they rave on about Hogan as if he is over the line.

Most people in the village are idiots though.

So, this means nudda. It's just stupid people talkin' stupid.

Hardly remarkable stuff. And not much turns on it.

I reckon he's a certainty to re-sign.

There were people in SA who honestly, truly thought they'd successfully lured Jack Viney to Port.  People will believe literally anything if they want it to be true.

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
