Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

FWIW  Chris Dawes is needed as CHF ! If Frost plays, he plays down back!

Chris Dawes still the "go to CHF" for mine, smart footballer, knows where to run, can kick vital goals and knows how to deliver! If his Calf issuea sre over I would extend his current contract no problem at all!

I agree with your post 100% but it is a big IF...

I think a lot of people under estimate how important he is in our current squad...

Agree with you on this picket. If Frost is to be in the 22, it should only be as a KPD. The jury is still massively out on him, and the more it is, the worse it gets.

His 2 goals highly flattered him today.

Dawes is still a walk-up start as CHF when fit, until Weideman overtakes him.

Frost's miss in the third was a turning point. Get it and we were a goal behind his miss lead to a coast to coast Saints goal and we were three goals behind. End of any chance of a competitive game..

Nah, the turning point was when we got ahead of ourselves at Q time...we were coasting and they turned up.

It's tempting to see it that way (Jesse missed an easy one around the same time too) but it didn't affect the end result - we could have kicked 25 goals today, the Saints would have finished with 30.

Dawes is still important at least until the end of 2017 while Weideman & Hulett develop and until Hogan and Weideman sign their new contracts.

Dawes best & worst are much closer together then both Pedersen & Frost.

Dawes is sucking the life out of our salary cap. Most pundits estimates are between $500-600k pa. Where has his bang for buck been at MFC? Sure, we got to pay someone, and he's been injured, blah, blah, blah. Is he OOC at the end of this year? That money can be used to throw at a bigger, less fragile fish. Dawes will either not be at MFC next year or be on a hugely decreased contract.

Does he offer something going forward? Sure, but no one is holding their breath. Rather look elsewhere.

Richmond on the back of 3 finals couldn't sign a big fish.

Dawes is propping up our salary cap getting us to the minimum.

He'll be playing for a new contract this year with little leverage, don't worry about the money.

Anyway, Dawes would replace Pedersen not Frost. Or compete with Pedersen. I'm yet to be convinced one is better than the other.

Frost is a different question.

He brings us something on a big ground at the G as he can run in to space and win contests, but was a liability at Etihad. Too much pressure on him to impact and his speed hides that he's still a big man when it comes to agility and he can't turn like a small man.

Unfortunately with Vanders out/inj, Brayshaw out of form/fitness and so on we seem short on forwards.

I can run around dropping marks and clogging space for Hogan also.

For half a mill I'll play every week too.

Even with a broken leg.

Dawes is finished until he can take marks.

We were beaten by the Saints in the air and in run.

This isn't correct. His contract was massively front ended. I think you would find he is sucking a very modest amount now. He wouldn't be getting a real lot if he's around next year but he'd have to have an amazing season once he gets back in to get another contract

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
