"Hey guys, we're the home team for the opening game of the season, what do you think we should do for a theme?"

"Anything but football!"

"Yeah, definitely don't want to make it too much about football."

"People are already getting football just by turning up, we need to offer something more."

"How about... animals! Animals that like grass, the MCG has lots of grass. Plus, we have to compete with the Sydney Easter Show."

"I know! Horses! it is perfect!"

"And Daryl Braithwaite!"

"..."

"Uh, I guess?"

"I was really hoping for Belinda Carlisle, but ok."

Remember when you went to the footy to talk to your mates?

the worst thing is not the songs in pregame,  or any half-time entertainment...  but to me its the adverticements over the loud speakers during breaks,  when you want some personal time to read,  or chat,  or whatever.    AFL,   stop bombarding us with commercial rubbish,  which we cannot switch off.  This is like torture,  you cannot escape it...  unless you do not attend the game !

Don't know why people are complaining about this promo.  It is an endless gift that enables us to make fun of, and laugh at, the Tiggies.

I believe they are providing a free face tattoo stand for the kids.

Wonderful initiatives by the Tigers.

Braithwaite just keeps on producing hit after hit -sadly the same shyteful  song each time.

I might sell vomit bags at the gate.

Just lucky its not  'the blues'  he's singing for,  the horses might go missing one at a time.  And possibly ending up in someones bed one night,  just to send a  'business as usual'  message .

.... being the Lygon St Blues Bros',  & its a horse,  it stands to reason its the fishy end,  Bbo...  the head.

if it was say,  the Sainters doin'  the promo,  it would have been pin the tail on the Ass's,  Bbo...  & so,  that would be self X-ploratory...  or so Montagna would say.  Apparently he likes to play blindfolded bedroom fetish's,  in the dark.

either way, the idea's a HorsesAss

What screams Richmond more than Daryl Braithwaite's 'Horses'? Probably someone OD'd on horse behind Dimmeys... but let's get back to the entertainment...

The Toigs are going with Daryl Braithwaite's Horses for the season opener. Daz himself will be on stage singing it before the game whilst horses gallop around our hallowed turf, I [censored] you not.

But the fun and hijinks don't stop there, there'll also be karaoke cam at quarter and 3 quarter time. To which songs, you might ask, well just the one, Horses.

And there'll also be a lip sync battle at half time, if you haven't got enough of Horses yet, it'll be to Horses.

I'm not making this [censored] up. Thank you Richmond, I for one, cannot wait.

Perfect choice for the Tiges and their supporters. They don't cope with change very well. They still have the best song in the Comp and there is something about the hardcore supporters that I admire.

Now upgrading Punt Rd oval is making some sense.

They need more room to make stables for their horses. The ground gets renamed Punt Rd Stables.

What a F"n" joke, No curtain raiser games, yet Horses get a gig. Spare me!!!

The AFL is fast becoming a bigger circus, we have clowns running the show. May as well have animal acts as well.

great word daisy. I guess I would like to see that level of ferality amongst Melbourne supporters rather than the meek and at times highly critical comments at games when things are not going well . I don't include all those kids who come along and support our team. Like all kids they are beyond reproach.

Just having a closer gig at the handsome blokes in that ad and it's no wonder why they need those horses.

Don't start me on Sandy girls.

Apart from the Mass bit i recall the area fondly.

As a youth(I digress and apologise in advance)  I recall driving home along the beach road, knocking over cyclists, swerving through the bends of the bay smoking a peter stuyvesant and thinking that nothing could top the night I had spent with the Essendon Chairmans' very welcoming daughter whilst he was asleep in the master bedroom.

Being a gentleman ,I will never reveal names but i assure you my memories of the bayside suburbs are vivid and pleasant .

I have driven through Europe,America and some of the more nefarious parts of the former soviet union (purely trade related) but I have never been more satisfied than that particular morning.

Indeed. Nothing quite as satisfying as a new soft pack of Styvos, melting the plastic, ripping a neat hole in the silver foil and tapping the first smoke from the pack to enjoy.

Horses at footy should be police horses.

Umpies escort.

Half time chomp on apples from kids leaning over fence as Dad listens to transistor.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
