That's because all of the Pies supporters will be waiting outside with bricks and wooden clubs.

Nah they were all crying in their beer long before than and had vanished in shame down to Olympic park where they were burning down their home.

Collingwood so that we could resume our tradition of beating them in "record attendance" Grand Finals. I also want to beat them by a point after the siren.

12 goals in front at half time and win by 15 at the final siren.

By then there will only be dees supporters in the MCG .

Lovely!!!!

Come now, surely there are enough "Collingwood losing a grand final" occasions for everyone to get their favourite flavour!

:)

I had a real think about my own preference and for me, in a grand final, I think Hawthorn. Beating them solidly but not 'foregone conclusion' margins. Something that took a really heroic effort in the second half that set a few names in history, that would be the way to go.

Interestingly, at first I just thought Essendon automatically. But y'know, what I'd really like would be to knock them out of finals year... after year... after year. I want them to be our bunnies thinking 'We could win a premiership as long as we don't have to play Melbourne in a Final'.

Still, that's a long term plan. Essendon might not make finals again for a decade. Their fall is now Carlton-2002 quality and I think Worsfold is a real chance to fall into the same arrogance trap that Pagan and Malthouse did. Hit the heights with a collection of stars, but you can't do the same thing with a broken list.

Nice to see that the Demonlanders wanting to crush the Pies have now passed those that merely wanted to beat the Tigers!

Anyone who's been around for any time at all knows there's only ONE GENUINE rivalry in the AFL.  And, that's Melbourne/Collingwood!!

As I always say, there's two things that make me happy:

1.  Melb winning.

2. Collingwood losing.

When both things happen in the same game, I'm ecstatic!!

Do it in another Grand Final?

UNBELIEVABLE BLISS...!!!!!

Bring it on!!

Yep. Waving goodbye to Filth Supporters midway through the 3rd Quarter

Grand Old Flag sung louder and Louder...

winning after the Siren might kill me.

I want to enjoy the moment! :)

I'm going Richmond. Mostly because I think we could seriously beat them, and going into the game, the story will be about them rather than us and the hype about them will probably drown out ours (even though it'll be remarkable to see us in a GF too). If we played Collingwood I think we'd lose and seeing Collingwood get up against us on the big day would be seriously hurtful

No! This post involves too much reality! It's bringing me down after all the beautiful fantasy above.

The only grand final I've been to in my life was the 1988 game against Hawthorn. There's nothing I'd love more in my life than to return the favour but smack them by 100+

Well Barrie you would surely be one of the few here to have experienced that joy from the inside.

As others have said, Weiderman playing a key rôle in beating the Pies would be the icing on the cake.

Imagine the irony of a Weiderman winning a Norm Smith vs Collingwood.  Surely that would exorcise the curse for ever.

They would burn down the Lexus Centre, or whatever is is called now.

Collingwood to compensate (somewhat) for 1958.  Another era of 'Colliwobbles' at the hands of Melbourne would bring great joy to this old fart.

I voted Richmond but come to think of it it may result in civil war in my family so not sure that's what I really want. Collingwood is the obvious one and I'd love to pay back Essendon for 2000.

I'd love the Dogs & Saints to get a flag but not at our expense and winning against them would be bittersweet in a way - don't get me wrong I wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth but seeing the looks of devastation on the faces of their long suffering supporters wouldn't be as sweet as the schadenfreude of watching the Pies or Bombers lose against us. The Hawks would be great too but really their supporters have had so much success they probably wouldn't be bothered that much. 11 flags in 40 years, losing another one would be like nothing for them.

Because playing Richmond would require them winning an Elimination Final.

We like to keep things realistic here.

Dees finishing 8th with a dream run into the grand final (winning interstate in WA with a hogan goal after the siren , then smashing norf at the G by 100 points,  then beating the pies in the prelim in extra time after the siren) and to come up against the minor premiers hawks  (who've only lost 2 games for the year) in the GF and then running over the them in the final term winning by 7 goals ....

Fremantle.

Their supporters are smug latte sipping, cone smoking and dole bludging socialist pillocks.

If we beat Freo I would paint the 4WD red and blue, fit an extra large bull bar and cut laps around Fremantle with the club song blaring for at least a week.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
