Can't remember specifics, but I'm sure partyboy has runs on the board.

I assume he has some good mail, but it is hit & miss. Don't dismiss it out of hand.

Yeah sorry what were you saying?

I completely agree with this but if they are going to do it you would want him getting a good block of footy in that role at Casey. I am surprised that he has been used predominantly as an inside mid.

I'm not surprised by the inside mid bit. It lets him just play football with less focus on structures and less demands on pace.

Yes, we (me) all fall into that trap, Stu.  But it's a quote worth remembering.

I called him on it straight away, based on his previous "information" being Goodwin to be head coach this year and Shiel to be a Hawk this year.

If you read the posts, it came out he was just guessing. People that post guesses as information should be treated as such.

Hope you learned a lesson.

Yeah, I read it, Stu, but it's small fish mate and not worth the "I told you so's".

The guy worded it poorly.

Surely if speed is such an issue the Club would have tested his 20, 50 & 100 mtr sprints by now and would be able to compare them to his speed before he was injured. Those records  must be around. That would tell everyone exactly whether he's got his speed back or if not how far off he is. It would also tell them how much speed he is getting back progressively since he started running again. Surely if he is slow as hell they'd know and he'd know and he'd know he's cactus. On the other hand if they are going ok they would all know and it would all be good. You'd think they'd know that if as one poster said B McC said he' s now officially in contention for selection.

I was under the impression from what Roos has said that it's Trengove himself that has to put his hand up first, we don't know if he's done this yet. He might well feel he's still getting the feel of the game back into him through VFL and that he doesn't want to put his hand up for selection until he's absolutely sure.

Pates, read back a couple of pages, there was mail from a couple of posters that he has put his hand up.

I did note that Max Gawn on Marngrook mentioned that Jack is getting back into the swing and had bruises in places he hasn't had for a long time.  There was nothing sinister in what he said, I got the impression Jack was getting used to being battered around again.

I'm most disappointed, because I will miss any comeback game in the next month because we are interstate and I can't make QB this year.

Pretty selfish of me really.

I said "don't dismiss it out of hand."

Nothing has changed.

Obviously you get zero mail on anything, otherwise you'd understand how tenuous the veracity of it can be at times.

It wasn't "mail" it was a guess. If you read the posts you will see he eventually admitted that.

Imagine how much (more) rubbish there'd be here if we all posted our guesses as rumours or facts.

Anyway, back to Jack T.

Really disappointed he won't be playing this week. I can't believe that Jack wouldn't contribute as least as much as our bottom 5 players, eg Bugg, Wagner, Michie.

Plus it would be a good story for a match that desperately needs some interest.

I'm told he has put his hand up this for the first time this week.... in 2 years.

Pretty big news, but I am not to know what happens at selection.

Whether it be this week, next, or the week after, you better have the defibrillator handy.

Regardless of the hair splitters, still good information. Thanks for sharing.

I reckon there'd be a fair few getting around the club IT.

Love your work Ethan. Was tempted to leave that typo there. Testes and Speed often go hand in hand so to speak.

As i said earlier, Macca said at training Jack is looking to play senior footy again so the club will really start looking at him on a form basis as of this weekend and i'm sure he'll be back in the mix in the next 2-3 weeks.

will be a fantastic day for the club when jack is back out on the G and reminding everyone how good a player he is.

By all accounts his performances at Casey have been pretty good, and his fitness is up to scratch.

IMO the club has missed an opportunity to lure another 5000, maybe 10000 patrons to what could be an otherwise awful game at an unsociable Sunday time slot by not bringing Jack back for this game.

I think our efforts at marketing this sort of thing have been just below awful.

Bring  him back when the time is correct not for a marketing reason.

Maybe you miss my point - he appears by all accounts to be ready, AND this would be a suitable opposition to 're-debut' him, AND it would be good for marketing.

He appears to be ready from the outside but if the coaches don't think he is ready then it's simple he doesn't play.

There is a problem with this mono.

Either he does not think he is ready or the FD don't think he is otherwise he would be playing.

Or am I missing something?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
