Threads like these show off how many different generations we have posting on this site.

It's weird.

I know. I was promised it was just going to be hot 30 year old chicks with time on their hands and a love of the Melbourne Footy Club. Alas, life throws curve balls.

One day someone will have to take the football department staff list and set out in plain English exactly what each person is paid to do, because it seems to me that one of the almost 40 existing members of the football department could take care of game analysis and education co-ordination. For example one of the five people with the word development in their job title.

I feel like that one young alcoholic around a bar full of old drunkards flirting with the one old bartender with huge saggy [censored].

I'm picturing you as the guy in every cheesy action/sci-fi movie who says things like 'All I need to know is where they are!' and 'Our objective is to find the enemy and kill the enemy!'.

They usually get gruesomely exploded/gored/brainsucked/eaten during the first encounter, as a plot point to make clear that 'the enemy is smarter and more deadly than we thought'.

This is an awesome post.

You could sit the MFC list in front of a white board 12 hours a day and it would make no difference.

Bluey I think youll find this blokes job is more about educating the educators

A Hah,,,,, here we go, wins are now the imperative to start our climb... things are starting to get serious.

the list must be seen as mostly shaped & cleaned; after this off season... form will soon show its return.

I actually tick most of these boxes... you can decide how conceited I am re: hotness.

It's nice to be a human curve ball. Represent!

Jennings seems eminently qualified and its a bonus that he has worked with McCartney and Goodwin before.

Good to see our player development and education programs' activity lifted and that players reacted really well to it:

Quote: “Throughout the year we started to introduce a number of changes to the way the coaches delivered information to the players, which had positive feedback from the players and tangible outcomes on game day.

“We will be making some further changes next season to continue creating the best learning environment for our players and ensuring their development.”

I see this as another example of Roos stepping into the background and allowing Goodwin to set up his own support team and structure. By this time 2017 Goodwin will have his own team in place. Love that Roos is giving him the space and authority to quietly build this outside the glare of media spotlights.

Would that include telling them what the time is?

We live in a professional world SWYL. Let's get the very best clock monitor we can. Someone from Seiko. It'll send a message to all other clubs as to the type of outfit we are.

a lot is about how the coaching works..not so much the players per se in this instance.. All about delivery of info etc

What are our KPI s and how will we ensure quality outcomes if we implement the models this person is proposing ??

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
