Aaron Hall

Aaron Hall is definitely someone we should be targeting. He is a serious talent with speed, skill and he kicks goals.

He hasn't shown much at AFL level until the last few weeks because he has been played in the forward pocket due to Ablett, Prestia, Swallow, O'Meara, etc. Now that he is playing as a mid, he has been exceptional.

He wouldn't cost the world and has huge upside. We must go after him.

He always looked like he'd be a player, but more of a small forward type. He's exploded since he got into the midfield and fits our needs as well. We should definitely have a look, but not sure on contract status?

Out of contract at years end I believe. Would be worth a look if we can't get Bennell.

He is a little bit untidy at times, but is lightning and actually uses his speed in traffic to burst away, unlike someone like a Sam Blease. If the price is right I reckon he would fit our needs very well.

Was disapppinted we missed out on him in the rookie draft back in the day, would love to see him at the dees, but can't see it happening. Him, Jared Brennan and Karmichael Hunt were my three favourite players for the suns and I'd like to see him do well up there at least.

Demonland should know all about this player because he was touted heavily back in the days before he was drafted.

He came from the same part of the world as Jeremy Howe and many Demonlanders expressed hope that we could recruit him because of his speed, that bit of X factor about him and the potential for improvement but those in charge of recruiting looked elsewhere.

I think it's too late now - the horse has bolted.

Why do you say that, Jack?

He is what we need and he is out of contract and knows he is about 10th in line to the GC midfield when all are fit.

If Dixon walks, which he probably will do, then they have the room to sign the other two. So really it's up to Hall if he wants a change or he thinks he has the ability to stay in the side when the others return.

He would be a handy pick up, although would be a rung or two below someone like Motlop in terms of what they can bring to the side. Wouldn't say no at the right price.

I agree, the horse has bolted. I thought we should've taken him. Demonland had us taking Hall, so there was quite a bit of disappointment around us letting him slide. I would be happy to trade into Hall, but I wouldn't pay overs for him. 3rd round tops for mine.

Hall would be a perfect target in my opinion. His last 6 weeks have been fantastic. Worst game in that period has been 24 disposals, he's averaging 29 disposals since moving into the midfield and kicking a goal a week too. On top of winning lots of ball, he has SPEED, and he uses it effectively yo break away from stoppages too. Once Ablett, Prestia, O'Meara and Swallow come back in he falls back down the midfield pecking order. I say we throw a second rounder and try to lure him across. It's a week draft and we're not going to find a better player than him outside the top few picks.

GCS might have to let him go. A second rounder might get it done.

I think our trade period hinges on what Jeremy Howe decides to do. If Howe is GCS bound then hall might be part of the deal

Surprised there's not more being said about this guy.

I can't see Bennell fitting into a Roos culture, O'Meara is big risk / reward and Prestia seems (at least on face value) to have said no.

If we need outside pace then perhaps this could be our guy. Has been much better than I gave him credit for in his first year. Outside player, very quick and breaks lines / gets into space. Was average in the first few years when GCS had a midfield but turned it on big time towards the end of this year when GCS were depleted.

Had 24 or more touches in the last 7 games including Crows, WCE, Richmond, Port and Swans.

Was originally a Hobart boy, so no family ties to Gold Coast.

And if thats not enough throw in Jimmy, out with the J's in with the H's

Maybe throw J Fitzpatrick in as well, or even J Grimes.

Plenty of J's at the Dees to go around, hopefully not too many e's though.

Yep, go for him. Has speed (something we desperately lack) and a bit of flair.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
