I think it was our first goal so second quarter? It should be easy enough to find on the Smart Replay.

EDIT: Found it here.

Just watched it (still have it recorded on my Foxtel box). Disgraceful.

That pretty much sums it up.

The funniest free kick was the one to Garlett I think it was who got a player holding the ball, everyone stopped and about three seconds later the umpire realised it was a free kick and then decided to blow the whistle. How that can happen in professional sports is beyond me.

Do you think it's because the umpires are being fed information into an earpiece to tell them when they miss something?

Couldn't get online much yesterday but thought I'd weigh in now.

Firstly turning up to play like that's an embarrassment, joggers compared to sprinters.

I think Grimes should've started as we needed a spoiler in defence.

Lumumba played his worst game for us.

Glaringly undermanned in the midfield without Tyson or Vandenberg.

McDonald was probably our only highlight, him to the ruck was a great move (I recall he was recruited with that capability) as he showed a third way he can dominate a game (disposal permitting). He looks our best backup option. However as result of this we were far too tall in the forward line, Gawn was basically useless at the top of the square especially since we didn't kick it there, and Hogan and Dawes accompanied him in the 50 most of the time, as well as Watts sometimes.

I liked the look of Harmes in terms of evasiveness and tackling, but unfortunately he severely lacks composure when kicking.

Unfortunately for the health of the club, the 'duo of death' M.Jones and Bail were in a handful of better players who got us back in to the game in the 3rd.

The team who was meant to be rebuilt on defence has now given up 280 points in 2 weeks.

Not a good day at the office and I'm really unsure which way it'll go against Carlton next week.

Not looking for excuses, but there was word around the traps that a virus went through the club over the last week or so. Now I will wait with baited breath as to those who wish to give such a virus a name.

The umpiring was absolutely #(%*ing putrid. So many rule changes have started to undermine this game.

We had so many tackles that went unrewarded yesterday. You can just drop or throw the ball as you please nowadays when smashed in a tackle. But of course the second an arm slips up to a player's shoulder it's too high.

This is the Bulldogs. A team that lost:

Their Captain

Their CEO

Their Coach

Their leading midfielder with a season ending injury

Shaun Higgins a 30 goal fwd

Their longest serving player, Gia

No-one wanted to go there, no-one wanted to coach. They were a basket case. Half the players in their team I didn't even recognise their names.

What they have done this year is extraordinary. For posters on here to say 'well its the Bullies and they are well ahead of us' and somehow justify this loss as being part of learning curve is simply insane.

Why can't we be like that? Why don't we demand that our team performs like that?

How is it that Alastair Clarkson assistant coaches can move to clubs and instantly invoke a strong system based style of play? (Wait til Carlton does it under Bolton)

Why do we acccept such putrid mediocrity?

Why isn't Roos being questioned more? He is not above criticism and for mine he deserves a pasting for the tripe that has at times been dished up this year.

This club has got to get tougher at demanding excellence. Yes its partly the cattle but system based football doesn't depend on cattle. Its about effort, running and pressure.

I fail to see how some posters can let Roos off with these club killing performances.

What's your solution???? Sack the coach???

Our drafting & development etc was diabolical for around 6yrs that will set you back another 6yrs... Doggies list was far more advanced ..

Club needs to stick to the plan & continue to develop & breed culture.. Sorry no short term fix

Posted

Also worth mentioning is that I think we could've gotten even closer before 3QT. Had opportunities to be within 5 goals. Never have I seen a game where the tide has turned so dramatically.

I'd take a guess that 22 of the Dogs' goals were scored in under 60 minutes of gametime

Don't believe it for a minute.

And who is asking for a short term fix? It's been 9 far king seasons. I am asking for people to get angry and demand more from our so called leaders. Let the players know hat is is unacceptable instead of the "side is tired so we'll give them a few days off midweek"

I'll believe it if the Norf and Bulldogs players start showing symptoms after all the physical contact with the contaminated Melbourne players.

I liked the move of Tom McDonald in the ruck after the centre bounces. It was so effective that it should be Plan A from now on. He could pick up 30 possessions every week in that role.

30 possessions for McDonald would result in at least 10 turnovers and 6 goals to the opposition. I love his effort, his ability to get the ball and take blokes on but geez, the brain fades that he seemed to have got out of his game earlier in the year are back with a vengeance. Cost us at least 4 goals directly yesterday with just dumb errors. Nick Maxwell gave him 4th best on ground and I think he had the 3rd most fantasy points for the game, which just shows that a) Maxwell doesn't seem to care about how you dispose of the ball and uses stats to decide who's the best player and b) this obsession with fantasy and supercoach points is a complete joke when assessing someone's performance.

As a team, we are complete psychos. You just don't know what team is going to turn up both within a game and week to week. We desperately need leg speed, the teams with pace absolutely cut us to shreds. Petracca is going to be more crucial to this football club that we realised I think.

I asked the club these questions.

Why does PR say the players are tired and the playing group are just playing out the season?

Is it normal to give players days off because they are tired or is this just unique to the MFC ?

No reply as yet.

In any case - there are many players faces I don't want to see at this club come start of pre-season. Twenty something years of premium membership and I am looking at other options. If this soft mob retains the same culprits on our list for 2016 then the membership goes and I don't give a stuff what anybody thinks.

How long do some players need to improve? Longest rebuild in history and still going.

For the sake of clarity, Roos said the team LOOKED LIKE (as in played like) they wanted the year to finish. He never stated that they actually do want that. That one line seems to have grown legs beyond its original meaning.

He was clearly doing his best to hold back his anger in that presser.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
